It has a universal hot shoe flash so it works with: Nikon, Pentax, Olympus, Panasonic Lumix Or Any Other Camera With Hot shoe.
Is this model compatible with the Nikon D5100?
460-II is compatible with majority of cameras with a hotshoe connection.
'majority' - does that mean Nikon D5100? I got stung with a flash that was compatible with 'majority' before.
It will work with that camera :)
It will work.. but see the comments from ghopper168 and myself below. Better be comfortable using full manual settings if want to use this flash with D5100 as it has no auto (TTL) support.
Except SONY cameras I should add..
As long as it works for Nikon D5100.. I am sold.. +1
It will only work on manual Mode, if you want TTL, this is not for you.
best used for off camera flashThe rep is right, tt should work with Nikon D5100.. or any other standard camera. But, it has no TTL, it is a fully manual flash. That is, you will need to set the flash power accordingly.. it won't adjust it's own power to meet the shooting conditions.
If you want an auto flash (i.e. one you can just put on top of camera and start shooting), and want very cheap, I'd recommend the Yongnuo YN467-II flashgun for Nikon. You can get it for about $80 on ebay.
Otherwise, if you can spend the cash, a Nikon SB-700/SB-910 will give much more reliable performance.
Note that this is manual mode only.
If you want i-TTL or E-TTL support look at the YN465/467. Separate models for Nikon/Canon so buy the one you need.
All comments above are correct. It works great as a Manual flash or slave flash. For i-TTL/Nikon or E-TTL / Canon we have the 565EX for a decent price also.
Lucky I didn't buy yet. Thanks for all the comments above. I use the D5100 in Auto mode very frequently and hence this is not the Flasher for me. 565EX is expensive compared to this at $180+Shipping. Where do you get Yongnuo YN467-IIfor $80?
ok. found a place for YN467-II shipped for $80 from HongKong.

That's a good comparison page if people are interested.
I was quite bummed they didn't produce a YN468 for Nikon. I've been waiting for YN-565 for Nikon now… lol..hopefully there will be good news soon.
only $3 saving.

A bit cheaper, and with local warranty, makes this a good deal for those who are after this flash. Especially as these aren't the most reliable flashes in the world.
price is on par with ebay i think.
not a bad 2nd flash, has slave
But this flash is good for a cheap home studio.
Buy a few shot thru umbrella's and instant home studio
Checked some overseas website, this is a good bargain/deal indeed if you are after a non TTL, manual flash.
YongNuo YN-460 II Manual Flash Speedlight (Non TTL, Manual Flash Guide Number 53, Suitable for Phottix Tetra, Aster, Strato, Atlas Triggerer, Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Olympus, etc. DSLR Cameras)
Any specials on cube tents?? I would like a cheap one.
Just the tent or with lights?
Rep, Do a good 'deal of the week' on the 565EX and and i'll grab one!
We will try to get in more stock and do one soon. Now we don't have enough stock to do a deal on it.
Wait… Got confused… on eBay it says the 460 can be used by Canon, Nikon and Pentax, but the reviews I've been reading have all been used on a Canon…
Is this for Nikon or Canon?
