[eBay Plus] Baseus LED Monitor Mounted Light Bar $23.99 Delivered @ baseus_officialstore_au eBay

PLUSEOY

Baseus have a great deal on this monitor mounted LED light bar. It's been posted numerous times previously (e.g. here and here), if you want to wade into those previous discussions.

I think it's the cheapest I've ever seen it. Happy to be corrected. Please note, this is the 'Youth' version. According to the description, it fits monitors up to 20mm thickness. Others might want to verify from experience. I have the non-youth version and really like it. It lights up my workbench and let me retire my old lamp that was taking up valuable bench real estate.

  • Nice post OP. :) Can we still keep our webcam on the top of the screen, if we have this one fixed? I am going to order it very soon. :)

    • I have a webcam on mine but because I have a dual monitor setup, I have the webcam mounted right to one edge of my left screen, so it sits close to the join of the monitors. It depends on your webcam and setup. Mine wouldn't fit under the light because it's too tall.

      • Thanks for the reply. Is it okay to use this on my curved Samsung 27 inch monitor? Model name: LC27F390FHEXXY.

    • Also interested where the web cam goes.

Just a reminder for those who has a curved monitor or thick monitor, check the thickness.

It didn’t fit my Alienware 38”

    • I have a Samsung Curved monitor 27 inch. Is this one fine to attach ? Pls advise

      • From the specs, it says suitable for 6mm to 28mm monitors only.

  • I've been umm'ing and urr'ing about one of these for a couple of months for $24 I'll give it a go - thanks OP

You missed the Blitzwolf one for $18 the other day

      • Oops yes I missed the recent deal.

      • Saw reports of several tedious steps attempting to get the Blitzwolf variant without extra $20 shipping in comments.

Are these models significantly better than the $15 unbranded versions on eBay?

        • +1

Only the minority had shipping issues I'm sure.

I guess like most random eBay lights there's the chance they'll use poor quality LEDs that just look terrible.
Having only tried the Blitzwolf can say it has good temps and colour rendering plus the advantage of rear facing LEDs too for nice ambient light.

          • @bamzero: Thanks for the insights

            F

Blitzwolf sounds like the sweet spot to beat with the dual lights

This Baseus one had multi-model instructions detailing hours of battery charging time (I think I misread something ?!)

Lights seem ok on first impressions though I have previously had Baseus peripherals that have fried themselves…

The touch controls are a bit finicky to use

Thought most LEDs in similar devices would have standardised manufacture by now given how ubiquitous they are!

Wonder what the colour rendering index is

  • How do these work for 21:9 aspect monitors? Would you need two, or is it more for illuminating your keyboard and workspace?

    • +1

      Definitely one is enough

  • It says "make offer", I wonder how low they'll go, my guess is between 50c-$2 discount.
Feel free to post Baseus counter offer, so OzB tightwads know what to offer or accept!!
BTW I have no need for this, my 27" screen already lights up the desk area enough and the keyboard is backlit.

    • +2

My experience is they'll ignore your offer for the entire period of the discount and suddenly reply with a price more expensive then the promotion after that period. But give it a go nothing to lose.

  • Thanks OP. I will give it a go this time to see what difference it makes

  • This one or Xiaomi?

  • Anyone else's Baseus light bar suffer whine at low light? Drives me crazy.

  • Bought this model two weeks ago at $28 on ebay, great quality, extremely well built, sits perfectly on top of my LG 32 inch flat screen and the lighting is more than sufficient.

  • +2

    why do people buy/use this?
Isn't the LED monitor backlight good enough to use at night?

I even had to reduce the backlight white color to night light mode ie less bright white screen and more of a yellowish tone to reduce the eyes exposure to white light
    which can affect sleep etc..

    • I'm not sure you understand what this is. It's a desk lamp. It's to light up your desk and not your monitor. It mounts on your monitor to save desk space. I have two of them - one on my main desk with my PC and the other on my monitor on my workbench beside me where I tinker with electronics. I previously had a big arse lamp that had a base that was probably 30cm diameter hogging valuable desk space. I seem to have a tonne of stuff on my desk. Maybe others are better with clutter on their desks and won't see as much benefit.

I can see that it can be misleading. People automatically think because it's mounted on a monitor, it must be to light up the monitor.

  • Someone pls tell how to check my screen thickness.? I have Samsung 27 curved display. Model name: LC27F390FHEXXY.

    • Measure the top part thickness with sufficient clearance around it (where the light bar will be mounted on) with a ruler or other measuring device
