    Shopback… I would give this a shot if it's cashrewards…

    .

    • +3

      I too love ANZ Banking.

      • +14

AVOID! There is no profit from this!
My last Magzter purchase with ShopBack got rejected after tracked.
        This store should be banned.

        • Same to me, rejected after tracked.

        • Hey @benjaminsul,
I can't see any previous DM's from you, so I do not have your account info on hand to take a look at this.
Would you mind reaching out with that info so I can check it out?

          Cheers,
          GYB

Yes, I don't trust shopback, so many times they are making excuses to not give the cashback. My recent cashback was nearly $200 for sony A7iii which they denied for no apparent reason by blaming Sony for not giving it. It is better to use cashrewards for less than no cashback at all.

    • +3

This tracked for me about an hour after purchase when I did it back in Sept. Also I've found @gotyourback to be a great rep.

      • Just an update: my cashback of $109.96 was confirmed today. Thanks SB 👌

    • Totally agree, not going to risk wasting $30 for no reason.
Had much better odds with Cashrewards despite their web interface and app being worse than Shopback.

  • +13

I'm not nearly stupid enough to fall for this

  • Anything that I should be wary of?

    • +11

If it looks too good to be true, and sounds too good to be true…

      • -1

No one should buy 100% cashback WM SP then.

        • Standard price is $20, CB is $8, if WM discounts it to $8 then the same CB still applies.

The difference is that the cashback isn't the same as or more than the standard price, and during certain promo periods isn't more than what was paid in the first place.

Also, for a 30-day phone service, 100% cashback makes more sense because it brings in recurring monthly customers. Losing money on a one-year subscription however doesn't.

      • It must be a duck

    • +2

for $3/$6/$9 profit, risk is too high… because if you really don't want this subscription at all & just in case something goes wrong with shopback cashback (due to several / some reasons) your loss will be $30 / $60 / $90
If you really want this subscription, then this is perfect.

  • +3

There are so many good to be true deals at ozb though…

  • +1

WSJ and the Economist isn't amongst the subscription

    • This isn't really a sub for newspapers, their newspaper offering is pretty light on.

    • sigh, this is the 1st thing i searched for too.

    • +5

May help someone, but I get access to The Economist (Asia Edition) and many many more for free, online through my local library using the Libby App YMMV

      • Tried it but super slow and there was a queue too..

  • +2

So I get paid $9 for taking a 3 year subscription.
    No brainer.

    • +4

Risk $90 and hopefully get $99 cashback

      • +6

With Shopback and Cashrewards both having browser extensions. I haven't had any issue.
Can always cancel sub in under 24 hrs and get refund if it doesn't track.

  • for me the 3 years access is $250 not $90…

    • +3

      More cashback for you then?

    • I got this too, but will you get 110% cashback?

  • +6

Hi all FYI I just purchased the $90 3 year subscription, the shopback chrome extension was showing active before and after payment page but was showing red (inactive) at the payment page.

Didn't get the "Harray, your cashback is tracked" prompt or email confirmation after the transaction. Will keep an eye on this and provide an update if i get anything.

    • Thanks for sharing, I hope it works for you.

    • Can you please confirm if any Aussie content there Meg & News? I can see lot of things all over the world, mostly Eurpoean, TYIA

      • Its world wide, the website appears to be an international website as well

      • +2

While they don't have everything, they do have a lot. They don't seem to carry some independent magazines (which is good, I'd rather subcribe direct and support them) but for example they have

        • That's Life/Take 5
        • Better Homes & Gardens
        • Australian Geographic
        • Who/New Idea/Marie Claire/Aust House and Garden
        • Maxim
        • Money Magazine Australia
        • Wheels
        • Motor
        • 4x4 Australia

It's more than enough content to keep me occupied when I go camping, anyway.

    • +2

I can confirm this is tracked for me. For $98.59 to be specific.

      • +2

it does track… however the argument is whether the fund will be released later or not, is entirely different story

        • +1

If you have proof of purchase and click history, they can't refuse it. Just ensure you have both if the need arises.

          • +2

@Borg: I guess you never heard there excuses before

            • @Poor Ass: I get rejects on the occasion so yes am across SB and their antics. As per above, if you have the proof and matches their offering, then force their hand. To date I honestly have 100% of all SB paid. Some unfortunately did require follow-up which is always a nusience.

              • @Borg: You reckon SB got the cash back but not pass it on or the vendor actually didn't give him the $

                • @Poor Ass: No idea. I just do my bit and supply the proof of purchase.

    • shopback chrome extension was showing active before and after payment page but was showing red (inactive) at the payment page.

I'm using Firefox (not on mobile) but noticed this happening to me, too. I thought it was because I have an existing account (the screens prior recognise my email and force me to log in with an OTP) but maybe it's just dodgy. I tried using a different email not associated with an account but noticed the tracking failing at the payment page still.

      • I used the ShopBack app, and had a tracking email 30 minutes later.

  • +1

It does seem too good to be true. The offer is valid till 31/12/21 so I might wait and see how others fare before jumping in.

    • I think I'll do the same thing, I'm tempted to take up this offer but if I ended up losing $90 I would be more than annoyed. I would go with the 1 year but after seeing reports of them billing people again after 12 months is rather go with 3 years knowing my card number will have well and truly expired by then lol
Please keep posting guys if it tracks and if anyone has taken up a similar offer in the past please let us know if it payed out.
I gotta say I haven't had any issues with SB since they added a browser to the mobile app although I did have a few issues prior to that, is everyone who's complaining making their purchases using the mobile app? I'm surprised so many are against SB although I have to agree CR are preferable as they always seem to pay out ahead of the expected date unlike SB which never do (unless you consider 2 days early) and quite often are late. But for me at least everything's eventually paid out unless I've cancelled/returned or didn't activate in time.

      • There was a similar offer in September, it tracked and then was rejected.

  • +1

Sadly I don’t trust shopback any, ore. Cash rewards is very reliable.

  • +2

If only there was a 300 year membership.

  • +1

gonna subscribe for 1billion years, just because i can't stop reading

  • One year subscription is $99.9 not $30? How can I get the subscription fee of $30?

    • Potentially you get more cashback

    • On the first page after you open it inside the SB app it has an offers tab. It will show the 3x offers @ $30 for 1 year, $60 for 2 years & $90 for 3 years.
If you just go through the normal way it shows the full (I assume) prices.

      • Thanks I got it now. The trick is I need to verify the email and log in the account again.

  • I’ve used ShopBack once for Nordvpn and it worked, has it not been working for everybody else?

  • +3

for $3/$6/$9 profit, risk is too high… because if you really don't want this subscription at all & just in case something goes wrong with shopback cashback (due to several / some reasons) your loss will be $30 / $60 / $90

    • Yes risk is high but from a small principal amount (90 dlrs) in addition the expected return is not bad which is 10 percent in 3 months … will be a good fun too.. otherwise lets chase gotyourback, afca, accc etc…

  • This work with courier mail?

    • Hahaha that's only good for wiping bum but on digital you can't even do that

  • +1

https://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.magzter.com - incredible reviews….Has anyone signed up with a throwaway credit card - I'd guess that's the best option? As for cashback and not getting charged double?

    AVOID!

Rolled the dice and signed up for one year. Will be interesting to see how this goes as I've had an average run of late with Shopback. Always for high value items.

  • 70% 1 star reviews

    https://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.magzter.com

Probably they not gonna pay shopback to pay us regardless of tracking

  • +1

Mine was tracked and money in my ShopBack account after 2 hours.

They also have an app which is not very user friendly but you got access for more than 5000 magazines.

    $30 for 1 years subscription

    • How can money be in after 2 hours though?

    • OMG! If you type a language , so many magazines pop out.

  • +1

My tracking email came through 70 minutes after purchase. All good. Status is processed by 12 March 2022.

  • I didn’t get tracked. Is there anyway to ask for refund

    • Someone on here said cancel subscription within 24 hours.

  • Tracked after 1hr

  • Pending Earnings
