  • Just paid for one in store for $998!

    • Which state?

      • +1

        SA.
Found a store that had stock and showed them my original online order email, and explained it was cancelled stating "no stock" which is clearly not true, and the manager put it through for me in store at $998.

        • I'm still waiting for mine, it was shipped days ago.

Maybe I should check my mailbox 😬

        • Congrats! What was the in store docket price?

        • I wanna leave Sydney. Far too many consumers.

  • I mean no harm waiting for boxing day sales 😉

  • It's a little frustrating that you spend $1,000 and you don't get tracking?

My dispatch date was the 14th, I imagine they sent it express

    • You should have a "track your order" link in your original order confirmation email. I also received a text from officeworks the morning it was delivered.

      • I'll check it out

        Thanks

edit# It's with Toll, looks like Monday as originally stated.

  • Mine has two white dots on the screen, I've raised a service request via the Lenovo portal to get it fixed under warranty.

  • Windows 11 Pro or Home included?

Some stores in Melbourne got stock. It doesn't seem to be listed on their system but if U go instores and ask they do/did have stock.. ie Mentone & Chadstone. Mine n my friends got cancelled after order. We were both able to get 1 at that price by talking to the manager instore.

You can see stores with stock here, but it is still at the "new" adjusted price of $1,288.

      • It doesn't look like it's on Lenovo s website either.

  • Basically hasn't moved since the 14th, it's like it's been sitting in SA at Toll and not even processed due to being backlogged.

I could of picked it up from a store, instead it's sitting in a warehouse and will probably be there til after Christmas…which means I'll be lucky to get it before NY.

It's a bit of a joke, and I mean when you're spending 1k not to have something express is ridiculous. It's worse that it looks like the unit was in SA and somehow it'll take weeks to get to me.

    Poor effort from Officeworks.

I set mine up tonight it all looks good, but it sounds terrible the speakers in this are rubbish, the speakers in my 6yr old Acer I paid $400 for are a lot better than the speakers in this, pretty disappointing for a laptop at the price point this usually sells for.

  • I found this laptop is using RTL8852AE as wifi card. It can only reach 120-160mbps on speed test while it will reach 260mbps if replacing with AX200. Such a shame to see Lenovo cut the corner on wifi card costing only $30.

    • Besides that and the point above on the speakers - both which aren't huge dealbreakers for me - what's it like? Thinking about getting it from the Lenovo Edu storeto replace an ageing PC

Just average. Works but cannot expect too much sound quality.

        • +1

This comment makes no sense, it's a laptop and you're crying about speakers? Most TV's have garbage speakers too.

You can't take some reviews seriously, I would wait to hear from others.

@[Deactivated]: Yes you can't expect too much from laptop speakers however the speakers in this model are very poor, they would be the worst speakers I have heard in a laptop.

Apart from that it's seems like a great laptop, good performance, very nice screen and great battery life

            • @Blackrose: Works for me, the screen is the selling point for me. I don't have super fast wifi and would be using it with a mix of headphones and speakers so those aren't really too relevant to me.

    • I find that I am having ping spikes every 10 or so seconds, kinda frustrating actually. Do you have the same problem as me? Already updated drivers etc.

  • Does anyone have a product code or sku from the laptop in this deal?

    • From my receipt:

      Product Code: SYSLIM5PR5

      • Cheers mate! How do you find it so far? Minus the problem you put down below.

        • Its been a great laptop, love the display and the speed. However the $720 acer form the ebay deal currently on is making me question my choice…

  • Does anyone else get a high pitched coil whine from the charger brick when plugged in? It wont go away and is driving me nuts.

    • No such issue with my power brick. Just get a bit too warm

  • Okay, well…. I visited a store with stock, could only see that via the nearby link.
They had one available and I told them that I had an original order cancelled because they couldn't supply it.
They matched the original price without further question, so I got one at $998.

So far, Tails boots fine, GUI works perfectly, but console windows fail with Tails and every other Linux distro I've tried so far. Can get boot to work fine, but Tails is the only one I can get semi-working. The WiFi card isn't functional in Tails, but a USB NIC works fine. Sort out more another time, perhaps get a BIOS update if possible.

    • BIOS update hasn't fixed tty screens :(
[on Linux of course, terminal with X windows is fine].

There is some weirdness, I can get a blank screen and the laptop is seemingly non-responsive, then I remove the power adapter and the screen comes on? Plug the power adapter back in, screen still on.

Perhaps there is a need to get another BIOS update if I can get Lenovo to find a solution.

  • Stock finally arrived in WA according to the link posted further above.
Osborne Park Store Manager refused to honour original order price.
He said to call Support, whom then called him, and after 40 mins total waiting in store I got the laptop at the original price.
The entire process has been poor form from OW.

    • Yeah, mileage may vary for every single store and even with different staff. On this occasion though, I got exceptional service; this is not always the case, but I was very happy to say the least. My support problem with Lenovo though…. not so sure that is going in the right direction — they are claimng that the macing only supports WIndows 10 and Windows 11 — I DID NOT BUY A WINBLOWS box… thank you very much. They just need to fix their BIOS fix that was related to the LCD EDID situation as I explained to them ;-)
