The 258V is the sweet spot in the Lunar Lake range combining power efficiency with top Arc 140V integrated graphics for $1.6K
AMD's Radeon 890M is the direct competitor and currently only available in $4K+ laptops with the slower Radeon 880M available in $2K+ laptops
Depending on the game, the 140V and Radeon 890M are similar in performance with the 140V pulling ahead once XeSS and FSR are used

doesn't a 60Hz display totally kill the deal?

      and resolution

    • If complaint about 60hz, people start trolling.

For an office/business laptop this is perfect. Absolutely zero difference for higher resolution and fps. FHD at 14" looks very crisp as is.

Not really, in person its a good looking display that gets plenty bright

Although itd be nicer with the 2.8k resolution

Most people are using these for browsing and watching videos, not gaming

  • I've been looking at this one for a college for work/docking/spreadsheets. Battery life is the main factor to consider Lunar Lake and snapdragon isn't an option.

Have a bunch of HN 10% credits to use so hope they will match it tomorrow.
I'm guessing HN will also run the 10% back in gift cards tomorrow.

Will need to look for a couple of thunderbolt docks to go with it if anyone has any recomendations.

  • Pretty tempting but you're paying $200 more than the other lower spec lunar lake deal you posted and all the other specs look the exact same

Hard to justify it if your use case is mostly browsing and work related

    But still tempting lol
