  • +2

    New mobile number is sufficient.

  • It'll get you through The Ashes!

    • +4

      Isn't it on channel 7 ?

      • +1

Yeah, but some of us can't watch it live, so it's Kayo for replays, highlights, mini.

        • -3

          Record it?

No way am I paying $2.50 per month to watch England play…

          • +2

@jv: Your comment is the difference between cheap and frugal lol.

            • +3

@jaygee: his comments are the difference between a lot of things tbh

      • +1

Less flogs in Fox's commentary box vs Ch7

        • +1

Gonna watch with the tele muted and Grandstand on the radio for me

          • @Hurg: Do you make any attempts to sync the TV with Grandstand commentary?

            • @toastyx: I don't bother (more often I'll just listen to the radio while I work and then look at the TV when something happens, so that delay is kind of useful).

I have a friend who does though. Depending on how you're listening to it, Grandstand should be a few seconds ahead.

No way am I paying $2.50 per month to watch England lose

FTFY IMHO $5 is a small price to pay to watch their warm beer get diluted with salty water.

  • +5

Dont forget to cancel or you'll be stinged by $25 like it hapnd with me.. lol

    • +1

Ditto, I can feel your pain.

    • +4

You can also be stung $25!

    • happened to me for 2 months. Forgot even signing up. $52.50 total and didnt even use it once

      • Some of the companies waive the charges as a courtesy if you call them and explain that you forgot. But Kayo doesn’t waive

    • +2

      Stinged’ed*

    • Calendar, but I have missed that in the past and been stung.

      • Just keep snoozing reminders

  • Deal expires 13 Dec?
My current sub doesn't end until mid Dec.

  • +3

Planned on signing back up this weekend for another 2 week trial to make it to end of F1 (two weekends left). Might just pay the $2.50 p/m as can the go back at look at F3 and F2 races over next 2 months. $5 is decent. Thanks OP

    • I have Kayo for f1 as well but am considering f1tv as a cheaper replacement.

      • +3

Pretty sure f1tv in Australia is only historic races and live timing as Fox Sports own the rights, unless you use a VPN

        • +1

Oh yeah good point, I just checked that!

  • +1

Awesome deal. Just checked it out on the PS5 - Kayo App and it's streaming really well with a good interface.
Just gotta put a calendar note to cancel mid-January.

    • +3

The interface looks good initially, but Kayo is an abomination.

It doesn't remember where you are up to if you are watching non-live sport, it regularly decides to skip you to live when you are watching on delay, they often put spoilers in the description of multi-day events even when you have "no spoilers" turned on.

The iOS app is an absolute joke - no support for play/pause on headphones (it starts playing back whatever app you were last listening to/watching instead), no PiP, no playing in the background.

In case you can't tell, it makes me furious that they can put out such a shit product because they have a monopoly on the sports I want to watch.

      Grrrrr

  • +5

If you cancel just before the end of the second month, you should get 1100 QFF points and two months of Kayo for $5.

    • thats what i plan to do lol

    • Is it easy to know when your 2 months is up, like a reminder from Kayo, or do you have to make a note of it yourself? Any idea?

      • +2

You might want to check but I'm pretty sure you can cancel anytime in the second month and you'll have access until the end of that month.

        • +3

Yes you can and is what I do with Kayo. Once the second month has charged, then cancel. Subscription will remain active up until the date paid for. It just won't renew.

  • -1

    Still too much

  • -4

Honestly with AFL season over and the AL on paramount + they got nothing im interested in

    • +8

Thanks for letting us know :-)

    • +5

      Big Bash is coming up

Lots of international cricket being played too

plenty of reasons that 2.50 is worth it

      • -1

Fair play im not a fan cricket fan but for those who are seem to be downvoting me

All i can say if it is your cup of tea then it is a good deal

  • +2

This is a great deal, but I’m currently on the $5/month Telstra AFL Pass deal, so I won’t be able to take it up. What I do wonder about is what’ll be the available offers once this ends next year.

  • do u get qantas points as well?

  • +1

Cool, I can watch the end of the F1 season

  • +1

Shame the tennis season ends this week, but at least it it starting nice and early in 2022.

    Thanks OP.

  • Bad timing. New tennis season hasn't started.

    • Starts Jan 1st, so you are only missing about 2 weeks worth of value. Still a good deal.

      • True I could start right before deals end. But first 2 weeks of Jan pretty boring.

        • +1

Yeah and Aus Open is covered pretty well on our TV channels anyway. Timing could be better, but oh well.

          • +1

@evilgenious448: I'm probably whingeing too much lol. 2.50 isn't much but wish it started at a better time, like 2 weeks ago when atp finals were on.

  • Does it work if I cancel and then reactivate when the deal is live?
Or do I need to sign up with some new details?

    • It's only for Members who are new customers of Kayo.
You would need to set a new accout (req different Mobile number)

  • any workaround for people who have used all their mobile numbers?

    • +1

Yeah, pay more attention on Ozb and always have a freebie on hand for times like these :-)
Perhaps grab one of these: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/663347

Very confused hence have to ask. Why the Negs for 1) Making a joke (note the smiley). BUT more so I then include a solution and a link to a Free Sim card. Very strange indeed. Negs don't bother me but to be negged for assisting……..oh dear!

        • Thanks for the info Borg, signed up for an amaysim, and will do that, not sure who negged you though

  • +5

Cricket fans, a PSA: sign up on 6, 7 or 8 Dec to have the two months cover the Ashes and the Aus v NZ ODI series (starts 8 Dec / last ODI 5 Feb)…

    • good thinking but I jumped anyway as nervous they will cancel deal early

  • I'm trying to navigate Kayo for the first time. Is there no live NFL? I can't find any upcoming games, only replays.

    • Aha, got to go to ESPN.

  • +1

Am linking to this more recent deal as it does not require a Qantas FF.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/669426

  • Is there enough sport over dec jan/feb? (football wise)
Anyone end up paying monthly in general?

    • What do you mean by football? There is loads of NFL and EPL.

      • Make that every football league that's not the EPL.

  • +1
