      Thanks, added.

  • Does belong use 100 percent telstra network like boost?

  • Thanks OP, anyone know when you have to activate by?

Have an Amaysim service that doesn't run out until January next year

    • Depends if you want the triple data offer, you'll need to activate by 6 December. Otherwise read the last bullet point in the description.

  • Hopefully quick Q: do you have to wait (e.g. for a month or almost a month, etc) to "switch to the $15 3GB per month plan for the 2nd month" or can you do it straight away after activating?

    • +1

You can do it straight away after activating.

      • Thanks for posting this deal mate.

Reading the Triple Data offer and wondering is there any way to wrangle three months out of the $45 80GB/month plan? Trying to do the maths here and coming up blank haha.

        • +1

Yep read the options in the description.

Option 2 is almost 4 months ($5 short).

Merged from Belong Mobile Phone Data - 239GB for Free

Belong has triple data on services activated by Monday 6th December.
Coles has Belong $45 SIM cards on special for $20 which come with 80GB (tripled to 240GB) with above deal.
If you already have a Belong service, buy SIM from Coles, activate it under new account and with referral from your original account, then "gift" the data (239GB max) back to your original Belong service.
Both services will receive a $20 credit, and you'll have an extra 239GB data banked, essentially for free. You'll also have a spare SIM for a couple of months if you change it to their $15/m plan.

it's deals like this that got me onto OzB all those years ago…

    • +1

Do you have to pay $15 every month to maintain your account?

      • Yes that's the cheapest plan available now after the 1st month.

      • It depends on your situation. Do you have a Belong service already? If so, you can do as described above to get the free data, and then simply cancel the new service you bought - so, no further costs on that service, only your existing service costs.
If this is your first service with Belong, it'll cost you $20 for the SIM and then you choose an ongoing monthly amount with them - $15/m being the cheapest.
If you get a referral code, you'll get $20 credit too.

This is kinda a dup isn't it …

    • Meta

    • Dupe

    • "referral from your original account, then "gift" the data (239GB max) back to your original Belong service. Both services will receive a $20 credit"

and there is risk belong will cancel both numbers, see whirlpool someone had that.

      • Yes it's a risk, best to read the Acceptable use policy. Customer Terms link is in the description.

This is the best way = Activate in a family or friends name & email. Use your referral code to give yourself $20 credit. Make sure you actually use the new sim in a spare phone so you can't be accused of breaching the "Customer Terms". Gift the data to yourself gradually or towards the end.

      • Yeah I've done it in the past and wouldn't risk it anymore. You realistically would save only $20 since the new number would only be a burner to get the data.

    • What's the best approach for someone who isn't with Belong?

      • Get a referral code from another user. Enter that upon activation, and you'll get $20 credit.

Mod: Solicitation removed. Use referral system

  • Is there a limit on how much data we can stack up?
    Edit: found it
Unlimited data banking is a standard feature on all of Belong's mobile plans so you can stream videos, browse the net or get social on your mobile without worrying about running out of data. And, we don't charge anything extra for banking your data, it's yours to keep.

  • Is this still working?
Plans are billed on the same date monthly. Initial billing dates are every 8 days (e.g. 4th, 12th, 20th, 28th May 2018). The time between activation and the next available billing date is "free".

Used to being able to get double data anyway.

    • +2

The starter pack used to come with 40GB, so double data was 80GB. Now you just get the 80GB upfront.

No those dates don't mean anything now.

  • Hack For Existing Belong Customers
Activate the same as above but in a family or friends name & email. Use your referral code to give yourself $20 credit. Make sure you actually use the new sim in a spare phone so you can't be accused of breaching the "Customer Terms". Gift the data to yourself gradually or towards the end.

How about the payment method, would it be safe to use different credit card but same name?

    • There are bots that detect this practice and you risk loosing service (and the number associated).

  • Belong have today announced double data for 12 months if you stay on the on your chosen plan. Not bad, especially if you have a grandfathered $10 plan still in the household.

"Go big on data for next year: order and activate a new eligible mobile service by 13 January 2022 and get twice the data for 12 months when you stay on your chosen plan. Only for use in Australia."

Not a bad promo for medium-high usage users.

    • Sorry, what's the benefit for grandfathered $10 plans exactly?

  • Is anyone else having trouble activating their sims? I’m not receiving any texts to verify my number to port over.

Perhaps they’ve caught on to my sim slutting…

    • Best not to have 2 Belong accounts in the same name, it's too risky.

Just activate in a family or friends name & email (see the hack in the description).

      • Hmm yes but then I can’t port my number over. I’ll try again tomorrow and see what happens

        • Who are you porting from? I had issue porting from amazing or catch, and the issue was with them, not belong, they wouldn't release the number. Took more than a week and multiple follow ups.

  • anyone know the process involved to use this? because im trying to help out a neighbor as he only needs a temporary sim until he gets his nbn issues sorted.

    1. so this is postpaid, how does it work? do they credit check you?
    2. what id verification is accepted? will my neighbor able to activate his sim because he doesnt drive anymore and his passport expired?
    3. how is cancellation process? so any extra hoops he needs to jump through?
  • does anyone know if you can see the mobile phone number on the starter pack without opening it?

    • +1

Nah, that's not how it works. You get a number allocated when and if you decide not to port in.

  • Price is back to $20 this week.
