Probably the cheapest its ever been shipped to Australia.

Pretty much the exact same deal, just copy and pasting because it works with the new code of BLACKFR and the "cheaper" colour of black/Black makes it ever so slightly cheaper at 10€ and the AUD is slightly stronger. My friend was looking for a coffee grinder and this is the one I recomended.

Some questions I expect

Woah this is expensive AF for bean cutting why dont I just buy X or Y at cheaper price

Honestly I was the same, was using the breville smart grinder pro. This was SERIOUSLY worth the upgrade, cant believe how much more consistent it is and how much better the de clumping is. Im making so much better consistent espresso with it.

Why dont I just buy it locally?

Its about 300AUD more locally and will take longer to ship. When I bought mine in the middle of the pandemic it came in 3 days from order to door in Sydney from Italy, actually insane.

What does "setup" mean (15BL)

This is just the colour of the trim at the display (15bl meaning black), its a bit cheaper at 10 euro vs chrome. I personally prefer the double black also.

  • It's an EU model, it comes with an EU plug (ECS provide an AU adapter), specs (220V and 50-60Hz) are suitable in Australia. Ask for an australian plug in the notes.
  • No Australian Warranty, but comes with a 1 year global manufacturer warranty. I'm not sure how easy it would be to get repairs done.
  • Customs Duty is not payable for imported goods under $1000

    • FWIW the bank cancelled the hold on my credit card so guess my order around 6pm Saturday 27th didnt get processed for some reason. It did create an account on the site but no order or invoice. Sadly no replies to my emails on the topic either.

      • Which colour did you order, is it black/black? could be out of stock. You can try and reorder again now with different colour!

          Update - that worked and this time I got a purchase confirmation email that didnt come last try.

    UPS shipping time to MEL is about 8-10 days, gets held up when it reaches MEL (UPS backlog I assume) and UPS don't keep tracking up to date (my delivery came unexpectedly).

    • Update: The reason you lose tracking is because they hand it over to StarTrack and don't give you the tracking number. Might also explain the delay once it hit Oz!

      Now I don't know which days to work from home next week to receive the delivery. I'm supposed to go in to the office two days a week… I don't think anyone actually cares though. Could always just pretend I'm deadly afeared of omicron, they cancelled our christmas party on that basis [/rant].

        There is no signature required, I came home one day and found box near front door without notification.

  • Poo. Mine was supposed to arrive today but "delays" mean it's not. Ordered on the 29th.

    • Got an Oro single dose pre-order that arrived at Botany this morning and also says "delayed", no idea if it's caught up at customs or a UPS issue. Currently says "check back tomorrow for an updated delivery date" on the tracking.

      • Mine was delayed:
        Ordered Sat 20/11
        Shipped Mon 22/11
        Friday 26/11 message: "We've missed the scheduled transfer time. This may cause a delay."
        Then Friday 26/11 "import Scan"
        Then Friday 26/11 "Processing at UPS Facility - Botany"
        Then delivered late Monday PM 29/11.

      • I've now got an estimated delivery of today (Monday) but there's no "on board for delivery" update so I think tomorrow is more likely.

        • UPS "attempted" delivery today (they always go to the wrong damn building entrance, my buzzer doesn't work on that side) but never actually got the "out for delivery" status. Have to try again tomorrow with delivery instructions I've had them add so the driver goes to the correct building :(

    Tue 30-Nov, 8pm — Received shipping notice, no tracking.
    Mon 6-Dec, 8am— Delivered (Syd Metro)

    damm the lid of the hopper doesn't like to come off easily ..

    • Yeh, it's a tight fit that's for sure.

      It also does not seem to fit a 54mm portafilter really well, but no big deal. (Breville barista express).

    • Agree, but this is a good thing imo, shows how well-sealed they are. The hopper is the thing many reviewers said feels the cheapest, so I expect it to be very flimsy but I think it's actually not that bad.

      The portafilter fork is magnetically attached which is a nice touch too. Wonder if this is new? Took a bit of wrangling to get it in position though.

    • I think they tried to address an issues with earlier variants where hopper lid was too loose and it was making rattling sound.

    • I bought the red-chrome one, the lid is pretty reasonable. Maybe slightly different among batches I guess.
