    • Thanks - just did that.. cheers

    • And price!

    Price in title.

    • Now… -fix- the price in title…

Two 0.7 watt toys is hardly worth ~ $1,000

Max 5.0 watts is over 700% times
the 0.7 watt "toy" transmit power-level.

      (It's closer to $50, but -no- deal…
Jaycar had prices closer to $30, a while ago,
      for similar pairs of radios.)

      Again, my 2.2 cents, only.

  • Save more than half price.

    reviews are poor…

    • Yeah i am not sure abt the item itself.. but anyone who wants a cheap walkie talkie.. maybe this wud be useful

      • Check the competition, eg, Jaycars.

  • Does anyone ever buy these? Get an email about them going on sale every month or so it seems.

    • Just got some for traffic management at an event coming up and whilst they work within a 200-300m range, they struggle over 1km between houses and trees. It's ok, but hard to understand sometimes. For $49 though, these are pretty cheap!

When I worked at DSE a few years ago, a very similar Uniden model to this had a nearly 100% return rate. The manager tried to give them to staff because they were just going to be written off, and they were so terrible they all went in the bin. They can't be fully turned off, so they use up battery all the time. The batteries have to be physically removed after each use, otherwise they will be completely discharged and leak all through it. Removing the batteries is a pain.

  • Toy power indeed… but looking at some of them on the market the output power is about the same on these types. I was looking at buying a moto TLKR T8.. but thats only 500mW… where these puppies are 700mW

but if its for short range commication .. these will be good as any… but if your looking at something hardcore then you'll end up paying more of course.

  • Damn it! Just bought some on Monday day for $99 when they were "save $30". >.<

    • cant u just return it under 14 days return policy or so.. and then buy this one??

      • Presumably yes. Probably worth it to save $50.
