  • Think all us tight asses already bought cheap Ozito kits from Bunnings :D

Without the batteries and chargers, this would still be a good four-skin pack.

    I'll see myself out.

There is currently a redemption promotion on this combo - an extra 5AH battery - https://www.makita.com.au/promotions. Makita T&Cs say that the purchase needs to be from an Authorised Makita Australia dealer, though. I've posted a question on Amazon but if anyone here knows please speak up!

    • Also interested to know. Will be the my catalyst for pulling the trigger. Thanks

Amazon is not an authorised Makita dealer, so no redemption for these.

      • Thanks!

        • I saw this promotion and tried anyway, filled out the form and uploaded my Amazon invoice. I received free battery yesterday via Auspost tracked. Give it a try.

  • I already have the DHP486 and DTD171 kit which is essentially best in class for Makita 18Vs but I know I wanted to pick up a recip saw and rotary hammer.

How do these fair? Better to hold off for a kit with their higher end models? I'll have to watch some reviews but I wonder if anyone has any experience with the sub compact series?

    DJR188Z

I like the 2 batteries, charger and 3rd battery via promotion. I would flog off the drill and impact driver for whatever I could get for it.

    • Edit: As it's from Amazon there's no 3rd battery via redemption.

There is no warranty with Makita with these. I called to find out

    • I registered every product with Makita Warranty successfully using their website. Bit of a pain as I couldn't just register the combo kit, had to register each device separately but well worth it.

  • The combo kit they sent was actually the DLX414TX1 combo kit. The driver in this kit is DTD157 and the drill is DHP487, others are the same as listed.
