As an explanation, airlines allow you to redeem seats with points. However they often only allocate a few seats per flight. Eg getting a reward seat from say, Sydney to London in peak season is nearly impossible for many.

For the next 48 hours, every seat is a Reward Seat

Until midnight tomorrow, every Economy seat on our Virgin Australia domestic network, between 1 December 2021 and 31 March 2022, will be available as a Reward Seat.

This means from as little as 7,800 Points (plus taxes, fees and carrier charges*) you can redeem a one-way Economy Reward Seat from Sydney – Brisbane, or to any destination across our domestic network - even during peak travel periods like Christmas and New Years!

Hurry, seats are limited.

  I wish they ran a promo like this for a whole week or even a bit longer. 2 days is difficult for me to overcome the mental hurdle to start travelling again, let alone decide where to go and when.

  The next available seat from Melbourne to Sydney is 18 January 2022 and the only dates they have available are on Tuesdays. In comparison, Qantas has seats available almost every day. That's a hard pass for me.
