Pretty good router and very good value for money at this price!

    ASUS RT-AX82U ($320) or RT-AX88U ($430) ?
Have NBN100 FTTC, don't think RT-AX88U will make much difference over RT-AX82U?

Off topic a bit don't you think?!

      • We are talking about ASUS routers right? :-)

Isn't the AX worth the extra $$ over AC?

        • +2

Not worth nearly twice the price imho

    • There is a deal for a TUF-AX5400, which is quite similar to the RT-AX82U, for $171

You can get a slower crappy AX router for less $$ yes.

  • Not the best price but RT-AX86U also available at $415.20:

got it for $199 in may this year https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/623074

  • Come at me AX!

  • This or the TPlink ax73 for $212?

    • Wow where is is 212. It’s currently 234 on Amazon which is also v good

  • We only have a single story place, about 30sq and currently using an Asus RT-N66U so it's fairly old. It does a good job but the far corners or the house, it just reaches.

Would we be better served upgrading to something like this or a mesh system? We don't really do any online game but do watch Netflix plus have a ton of smart devices connected including a doorbell (that is just in range of the current router but barely). The house is completely networked though so if I went mesh, I can connect every point to an ethernet port.

I do like to tinker with mac address accept/declines and QOS and not sure if mesh offers all that though.

    Thanks
