    • any recommedations on speakers to go with this?

  • How is this for 2.1 setup? I currently have Yamaha wxa50 with kef q350 and kef kube 8. Using for music as well as tv, but it doesn't have HDMI, so have been using optical for TV, which is not ideal. Would this have comparable sound for music in 2.1 setup?

    • Not sure what inputs you are likely to use for your music but there is a google review complaining about the lack of discreet audio inputs. So might be an issue if your using old school analogue inputs from a cd player, chromecast audio etc.

      • Good point, mostly wifi streaming as Yamaha music cast works flawlessly with Spotify and tidal. Probably best to stick with Yamaha as Bluetooth audio is horrible

    • What issues are you coming across with the optical cable for 2.1? Optical is fine for up to 5.1 sound generally?

  • Lowest Price ever according to camel x3

  • I'm looking for a new 2.1 amp too. Hoping someone posts some killer deals soon!

    • Keep an eye on Yamaha rx-v4a on eBay

  • I find must have WIFI feature in AMPs to stream (lossless) music from your phone/pads/computer. its makes music listening a lot easier and convenient. if your amp can do Bi-Amp its a big bonus to push the music with POWER. happy to share!.

  • So only downside to this is no HDR10 passthrough or Dolby vision?

    But would just run UHD player with 2 HDMI, audio only to this and other directly to tv?

    And can assign both rear surround inputs as Atmos and front surrounds as rear surrounds?

    • This may be relevant re the HDR formats:

      The AVR-X550BT features an advanced HDMI section with 5 inputs
      that offer full 4K Ultra HD, HDR (High Dynamic Range), BT.2020,
      Wide Color Gamut, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, as well as 21:9
      and 3D video pass-through, Dolby Vision compatibility and HLG
      (Hybrid Log-Gamma) pass-through support for exceptional color,
      clarity and contrast. HDCP 2.2 is supported on 3 inputs for copy
      protected content.
