Heard this today on TV $598 for an ASUS AMD Quad Core Laptop seems not bad.

  Class 2 video card according to Notebookcheck.net. Should play most games on Medium or Low settings. USB 3 makes it tempting, but an SSD would be sweeter.

    an SSD would be sweeter, but I am yet to find any stores that will throw in SSDs for their budget models.

  the 1.4 cpu that can burst to 2.3 will probably not please people

  you can look it up yourself but an i5 (any mobile i5!) would cook it… the GPU and the Win7 pro is nice though

    Some mobile i5 CPU is Dual Core only like i5-2450m but this one is real Quad Core.

      There's more to a CPU than just clock speed, and number of cores. The AMD Llano series of processors don't hold a candle to the Sandy Bridge series. I'd say this is just about on par with an older generation Phenom 2 CPU.

        i have a quad core AMD laptop and its quite nice and quick for what it is but you can't compare it to an i5

        In that case the Lenovo special seems better.

        Another thing I want to know is the AMD run cooler than i5 or i7?
