The E520 is about 2.4 to 2.6 kg. from memory.

      • I have a SL500 around 2 years ago and not use a lot, already have a black screen (I can still see the dark icons on screen). Search Internet and a lot of people have the same problem.

A bit hesitate to buy Lenovo again.

        • The SL seriers is a really crappy model from Lenovo, I bought one about 6 months agao, and the cpu fan went crazy after one night movie playing, although the T seriers makes my life so much easier, as it doesn't seem to be willing to end its life for after 5 years, lol

  • What is the extra 8% student portal?
How can I get access to it? I have a TAFE and UNI accounts.

I will probably upgrade the RAM to 8gb at a later date and am thinking about replacing the DVD drive with a 2.5" SSD at some point as well.

Edit: Looks like you can get an additional $100 cashback through Lenovo too! Making the total a crazily low $669.60 WOW!

    • I highly doubt 'multiple' cashbacks work on a single invoice/order

    this powerbuy one?
    http://www.powerbuy.com.au/offers/lenovo-thinkpad-edge/

edit, replied to wrong one :P

    • Yes, that's the Powerbuy deal I refered to. Unfortunatly if you read the fine print you had to reserve it before the 17th of March in order to claim it back when you buy directly from Lenovo.

However I have also just had a look at http://moneytree.lenovoincentives.com/ and it appears you can get a further $100 off through this. Now I need to wait for it to be shipped for the invoice to be generated so I can make the cashback claims :)

      • You do realise that 'money tree' incentives are not applicable if you buy 'ditectly' from lenovo. You need to buy from an authorised reseller. Did you check the model number on moneytree anyway?

        Check here: http://moneytree.lenovoincentives.com/?faq&s=au-moneytree

        • Where does it say that they don't give cashbacks if purchased directly from Lenovo? I can't see anything in the FAQ that suggests that is the case and their redemption form seems to suggest it is OK to purchase "Directly from Lenovo" - http://i.imgur.com/QGSzP.png

      • I thought this contradicts with this point (from PowerBuy fine print lenovo edge)

If you did reserve your claim prior to 17th March, please be aware that you CANNOT claim a cash-back from PowerBuy if you use a discount coupon code to get an upfront discount. "Double-dipping" with a discount coupon AND a PowerBuy cash-back on the same order is not allowed.

And they would need proof of purchase, with your tax invoice saying -10% might be risky..

        • Hmmmm, good point about the double dipping… I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed!

  • @lostsock
I know what you've print-screened. Did you check if the product number qualifies?
Not having a go at you mate…just making you aware about it. :)

    • Yeah, thanks for bringing it to my attention!
