  • Is there another version for using soundbar?

    • Dolby Atmos for home theatre seems to be included without purchase in the Dolby Access App, but I haven't tested this so can't confirm.

      • +1

It's not included as much as you pay for the license with the reciever (where the processing happens) rather than Windows which mixes virtual surround for headphone output.

        • True, looks like the settings in the Dolby Access app are just for passthrough of audio to a Dolby Atmos enabled receiver.

  • I already have this on my xbox…does this mean i can d/l for my pc too?

    • +1

whatever microsoft account you are using in your xbox make sure to log in using the same account in your pc. you should be getting it.

    • +1

If using same account, dolby access sticks with it. Just make sure you go to windows settings and select dolby atmos for built in speaker and same in case for headphones instead of windows sonic.

  • Is it any good?

    • There should be a free 7-day trial available in the Dolby Access App if you want to try it out.

    • Yes it's very good.

Note that it requires the content to have Atmos. A growing number of games feature Atmos.

  • LG should buy this for every LG OLED TV owner from the last 2 years…

    • Why? You don't need this if you're using your TV speakers, Atmos will work without paying for anything. Same with soundbars etc. That have Atmos. This is only for headphones that don't come with an Atmos licence.

      • Use TV speakers for Atmos…..eerrrhh no thanks!

        • That's not what I was asking. I was asking why LG should pay for this when you can already use Atmos on their products without it?

          • -2

@spirrowhack: You said 'You don't need this if you're using your TV speakers'

Our survey said…..you said it! Keep digging that hole son……

            • +1

@Solrak: Yes, I was using them as an example. You said that LG should buy it for OLED TV owners for the last two years, this product has nothing to do with LG or their TVs and doesn't benefit LG TVs in any way. The speakers that are on the TVs support Atmos already and don't need this. I also said you don't need it with soundbars who you're just repeating things that I wrote and avoiding the question, likely because you can't answer or. You also wouldn't need it on a home theatre or any other thing that supports Atmos already.

This is a purchase is to enable Atmos on headphones for Xbox and Windows.

Again I ask you; why should LG pay for this?

The only hole in digging is the one into your head to try to rattle your couple of brain cells for an answer but I think you either just don't understand what this purchase is or are trolling me.

  • This is only for headphones, you can set Xbox to bitstream Dolby Digital 5.1 over HDMI.

  • got it. thanks OP!

  • what vpn are you using
    which is free in chrome

  • i tried to use it but when i go to redeem it says my account ****@outlook.com(australia) even when using VPN do I need to change my account region?

    • Nope. It redeems just fine even though it says Australia.

      • -1

Nope, says wrong region, geo blocked . Not redeeming

        • Worked for me using SurfShark. Took a couple tries and clearing cookies.

      • Not with Tunnelbear.

      • +1

        FWIW I used NordVPN

  • +1

Bought, thanks OP. Worked fine with Surfshark VPN.

Any way to share this license once purchased (on other friends' PCs and XBOXes) like you can with Game Pass access?

    • Confirming if you log into Microsoft Store with your account on their user profile / PC, they can share both Game Pass and this Dolby Atmos purchase

  • +2

    Use code AKS8 for 8% discount (~43c)

  • +1

Tunnelbear doesn't seem to work. MS says "This code can't be redeemed. It was purchased in a different region from your account."

  • +1

Worked for me using Surfshark VPN on Android.
I would normally try Tunnelbear but it wasn't letting me connect to anything.
Also tried PrivadoVPN on desktop but that didn't work (different region error).

  • +1

For those having issues redeeming turn on your vpn and go to yahoo and see which region you are actually in. I was using pure vpn in Argentina but it was Jordan when I checked. Changing vpn fixed it for me.

  • I ended up getting it to work. At first I created a new Argentinian address in my Microsoft account but that didn't seem to make any difference. I had to do as TheTwin suggested and used a free trial of SurfShark on android.

I've found with a bit of fiddling on PC you can get better results with HeSuVi https://sourceforge.net/projects/hesuvi/ and Equalizer APO https://sourceforge.net/projects/hesuvi/
    for free.
