I don't think these can be upgraded to Windows 11.

    • +15

      Thanks jv!
Do you think an RTX 3080 12GB will work with this?

      • +1

GTX 1650 should…. Might need to upgrade the power supply though.

    • +5

Plenty of guides out there to bypass TPM + CPU + RAM checks. It's not that hard.

    • +1

Correct - not sure why you got negged for that…

I don't think these can be upgraded to Windows 11.

      Not official

      Upgrade can use this https://nerdschalk.com/installing-windows-11-on-unsupported-…

    • is it worth upgrading to win 11?

      • Yes, if it's free.

        • +3

No, I wouldn't upgrade. Looks awful especially no way to group items in start menu or create shortcuts on taskbar or link files to software…….the list goes on. Ok, I like to have control over how my Desktop, taskbar and start menu are laid out so Win11 is not for me. Perhaps down the line they might give back control???

          • @Borg: I used it since preview and went back to windows 10 last week. the preview channel was buggy although I was using it on a i7-5600u so its technically not supported but in my opinion just try it out and if its too buggy for you, report the bugs and then revert back to 10.

      • No. Very much no.

    • +5

They can be upgraded to Windows 11 using the "official" AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU workaround.

    • +1

You watch them downgrade the win 11 requirements..

    • You don't want to upgrade to Windows 11. cries

  • What are some use cases for this?

    • +1

Internet box, admin processing, etc. Could make a good MAME box, CNC machine interface - endless possibilities. What did you have in mind?

    • +2

      The all come with cases.

    • +5

The worst case… it's a heated foot rest.

Office work. Especially if you give it a bit more ram.

      • -6

        Officeworks do not sell ram.

        • +1

They sell laptop ram but you mostly pay for the packaging

Works great for Word processing and Web browsing.

It’s a computer. There are countless use cases.

This will comfortably do just about anything except modern gaming.

      • Especially since Intel just removed DirectX 12 for these! (Can still run old driver though.)

    • NAS, HTPC, Home automation, Home lab, and for less demanding everyday computing (e.g: browsing, word processing), just about anything that doesn't require a very high end CPU or a GPU (like AAA gaming, quick turnaround for content creation workflows etc..)

    • Pretty much everything most people do with a normal PC or laptop or Raspberry Pi, excluding modern gaming, heavy number crunching, big VM hosting and low wattage applications.

Sadly PCs haven't advanced very quickly in the last 12 years.

    • eth staking, media server for kodi, torrent box

  • How about using for a Windows XP gaming box? (As Windows 10 is useless with simulating the graphics for older games, even in XP emulators)

    • +2

The motherboard may not have windows XP drivers

      • Thought so. Worth an ask. Cheers!

Hi Rep, I have ordered a PC from last sale. But didnt receive it yet. Have emailed multiple times. Do you mind check and update the status? Ordered from Sep 27 Deal.

    • +8

I recently bought a PC from their Ebay site and unfortunately it was DOA. Sadly, Fuse Tech never responded to my messages and I had to escalate to Ebay, who arranged return postage and eventually got me a full refund. Not saying that all their PCs are dodgy but based on my experience their after sales service definitely needs to improve…As a result, I'm unlikely to buy from them again.

      • -7

        Hey Luigi,

Dam a DOA sucks , but in transit it can happen. As for service we have improved a lot on our backend service so we can minimise any issues despite the large order volume

        • +8

          Dam a DOA sucks

What sucks more is when a seller won't respond to your messages…

          • @jv: Correct, was surprised too see this message , but can be corrected in future!

        • +3

Hopefully you have improved your service since I received my refund (which, by the way, was last week)..You're not wrong about what can happen in transit, particularly given the poor packaging the PC was in.. Anyway, thanks for your response, it's the first I've received from Fuse Tech. But to be honest, I'm not sure what you were trying to say and who you were trying to convince…. Nevermind…

          • @Luigi Savadamoni: Hey Luigi,

It is an online forum which everyone can read hence my response, so I'll do my best to make sure any issues are forwarded to the team and fixed moving on.

    • Thank you . Issue sorted. Apologies. I made a click and collect order

    • Hey, if you know your order number I'll be able to check that for you, also be sure too check if you haven't accidentally selected click and collect instead of shipping (this has happened without people realising and still waiting on a PC)

  • Your "ultra budget Gaming PCs!!!!!!!!!!" link doesn't work

    • -1

Fixed now, the Scorpion series would be the one your after

  • pictures show a dvi port not vga

edit actually dvi, displayport and vga

    • I’d question whether those pictures are representative of what will be received. There is no mention of DVI, a dedicated GPU or a WiFi card in the listing, yet all are in the pictures. I expect they’re just file photos.

      • -2

Good spot the photos are of a Optiplex 9020, that's been fixed to Optiplex 3020
        Cheers!

  • Is the LAN port gigabit or just 10/100?

  • Op - which parts are refurb and which are new?

Also, will this get away with playing AOEII definitive edition easily?

    • +1

The upgraded SSDs are all new, the Optiplex itself is a refurb

    • +1

As for AOEII - buy a SFF 1650 super and you should be fine!

    • +1

I recently purchased the definitive edition when it went on sale. The normal 2013 version was fine on any device I ran on. This de is a beast. I tried to run it on a think pad (e590) it can’t handle small battle. Lags like hell. I have disabled all the bells and whistles and dropped all the settings to low. No use. A good gpu & 16GB ram is a must I bet. I am not in to pc gaming. So, I am not sure about apt cards and stuff. But I am also looking for a laptop that could play this game.

  • Pretty awesome for emulation, media server, torrenting etc.

  • Have you got any usff PCs?

    • Nah none sorry

  • This or a Pi 4 8gb

    • +6

Pi for power consumption. This for everything else.

  • What size is the MB if I want to replace the case? Is it micro or mini?

    • +3

      No. It is Dell.

  • Can use it to play 4K video for my projector?

    • +2

It has display port which should do 4k at 60hz.

  • Curious if the Intel HD Graphics 4600 would be able to handle plex transcoding

  • Anyone have a suggestion on how I can enable wifi on this type of PC? We don’t have LAN in the office as we use a Telstra wireless 5G.

Also, can the RAM be upgraded to 16GB?

I want to use this for admin work involving Microsoft office apps, google chrome, Adobe acrobat pro etc.

    • +1

You will need either a USB wifi or PCI E wifi card.
It would be pretty straightforward to add ram, look for used DDR3 ram. Maybe Op will even sell upgrades if you ask. Around $50-$60 for 8gb is a good price

      • Message through , we have limited stock hence no upgrade but we could squeeze some extras If you ask the techs nicely!

        • Hey FuseTechAu!

What do you mean you can squeeze some extras if I ask the techs nicely?

I don’t follow what you mean.

    • +1

Buy a USB wifi dongle for $29.

Yes you can upgrade ram. I think it's 4 slots and DDR3 is pretty cheap.

      Yes it's perfect for that.

I have a 3470 with 16gb and a 1050ti and it flies through any office type tasks.

    • +1

It costs $10 to add wifi in the listing.

      • Thanks for that. Just noticed that option!

  • +2

How does the 3020 compare with like a 3060ti?

    • Can't tell if joking?

      • +9

The number 3020 is only 40 behind, so it's almost as good

        • being 1000 behind might be better than being 40 behind.

  • Would these be suitable for being a Plex server? My old first gen i3 Intel nuc is really struggling these days.

  • +1

Would be an idea to look for the 7040 instead, they go for around $220, and has a much more updated cpu with ddr4.

  • I tried to see the price difference between with WIFI USB and without WIFI USB. I noticed that with WIFI USB the price is cheaper by $10. Is this an error in pricing?
