How are the parts it's listed with cost around $45? This is a rip-off. The kit doesn't even include a power adapter!

I'm assuming they are charging like $15 for the sd card they put raspbian on. I'm assuming there is no discount in buying this as a kit, and it's something they are assuming they can do to get around the one per person quantity.

The install process for a new sd card has been simplified by RPi a lot these days.

About as gentle as you can expect

    • They will charge $8 shipping for board only though.

A gentle suggestion this may not be a deal.
$22.95 is the pricepoint of the RPi 2w

Before shipping mind. I got one last week and it was $29.55 including shipping from Core.

Also got one from Pi Australia and it was $30.95 shipped for the Pi alone, which is close enough I think.

Each store had a 1 unit limit so had to spread ordering between two stores.

I did the exact same thing lol

  • I don't watch Pi prices but apparently supply is very tight currently.

This is the previous price of the more powerful Pi 3.

    • This version from Core has the inline switch which is a really handy extra. Also, the USB OTG cable.

Anyone else think it’s sus the last two deals for this store were by brand new users who signed up just before posting the deal…🧦

Vote reason: bundle price isn’t a bargain.

If you spending more than $25 for pi zero. You doing it wrong.

  • -2

For the price you'd rather go for a second hand pi 3 or even older pi. Or if form factor is an issue then might look at converting the project into arduino based and get a $10 esp8266/esp32

Not at all a deal due to silly bundle price.

  • Simply cannot recommend any Raspberry Pi bundles. Rip off + e waste no doubt.

  • +7

Listing the pi zero 2 standalone as 'out of stock' while selling the same item in an overpriced bundle is poor form and not a bargain.

Price gouging. Not a deal. Get off my OzB

  • has anyone used pi zero with homeassistant in any way? I was wondering if it'd run Ada instances around the house..

    • +1

No experience with HA on a Zero or Ada, but as a general remark I’ve run HA on a Pi3 and now a 4 and I’d say that the 4 was a huge step up over the 3 but even then the system feels like it could do with more grunt for HA. If you plan to use Home Asiatant for more than just Ada, I’d go straight to the 4B.

      • Thanks for the response, I'm also running HA on pi4b but was thinking of a way to implement HA based voice command using Ada in different rooms, hence the question above.

  • As others have said, not a bargain at all. Bundle isn't worth anywhere near that much.

And very shifty not selling these separately.

  • +1 on doing a shifty, selling overpriced bundles rather than the base item that people actually want.

It's an annoying sales schtick most times, but is galling when it's coming from an authorised reseller of the core products of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a registered charity whose charter is to improve access to computing education.

  • Definitely overpriced

  • Lol at this price, get yourself a Pi4 and some accessories for $10 more.

  • No stock of board only and gouging on a bundle that doesn't include a power supply is not a bargain

  • Is the usual bundle price without any discounts. Not a deal
