    Interesting observation. It's not very obvious at first. When you get to the order page it asks for an organisation name which hints at some later verification. On the other hand maybe the Ticketek deal is different. Who has actually attempted an order and what has been the result so far? Just to save me transferring lots of money from my savings if the deal isn't actually available :-D

  Just got myself the SL500. Price is only $1099 which is a fantastic excellent deal for that spec.
  Diff with the SL400 is the screen is 15.4 inch.

  And no company verification as well.

      tempted for one of these, but would prefer a little 12.1" number.. but the cheapest are $1.7k…

  Nice deal for the specs. In the customise options there is no option to have XP pre-installed rather than Vista. Does Lenovo offer anything like this much akin to what Dell offer via downgrade rights with their business computers/laptops?

  I doubt that you can downgrade to XP.

  Are you guys sure that we need not be a part of the affinity program to take this deal? I am about to pay through Credit Card and I'm afraid that it might bill me more than 999 bucks.
