  • Can you get to the ports once mounted?
I’ve used low profile once before and you struggle to access ports.

Tv's are so light these days.

My 48" TV is mounted to a mount designed for a 17" original lcd monitor in the early 2000s. Holds fine.

One that can hold 60kg in this design, is only $30 on amazon.

    • This site is whack. Who negs 2 factual statements?

  • Atdec Telehook is generally cheaper and its quality is excellent.

  • My tv is 48kgs, any recommendations?

Seriously, check amazon. The industry under-rates these things massively for safety.

The "50kg suitable" articulating mounts, assuming they're screwed into a stud, have been a stepping point for my 100kg+ body, MANY times when im running 7.2 wiring. (but still, get one that meets your weight needs officially)

In a past career, i used to install 100k+ home theaters, and even the 'rich elite' didnt bother with anything more than a $20-40 mount, because its just not necessary.

They're STEEL, you wont bend them easily; and thats another point, a failure would mean a sag, not a break, they're not brittle.

The only exception I ever had to make was when I was installing on boats, which meant aluminium mounts. THEY can be 'soft'. But metal square tube? You can make 150kg+ ladders out of it…

    • Yes. Get a lighter more energy efficient tv

  • Don't know if this bracket pivots downwards, but Kogan do one for $25. Says something like "supports up to 60" tv" or something like that. Probably the biggest at the time they made squillions of them. I put it on the wall and did a few chin ups on it. I'm 84Kg. Also comes with a heap of different bolts etc for different mount types / thread sizes.

  • My old Samsung 60” 25kg was on a mount already. And got a new Sony 85” 45kg. I am struggling to find specs of my mount on its capacity. I think it’s crest but unsure.
Can anyone tell me if I could safely mount this 45kg tv on it or better off buying a new bracket?
I don’t want to compromise the strength of the studs.

    • So long as its in a stud, not drywall screws, Hang your bodyweight off it, most humans are above 45kg. You'll soon have your answer.

Not joking. Just be ready to catch yourself if someone installed it wrong.

      • Thanks. I got it installed by professional. 6 screws in the wall. Don’t know why. Maybe he missed the stud one side.

        • Yeah, 6x drywall screws would probably hold ya too, if they're tight enough.

Pulling out of the wall is your only "risk" in trying a heavy TV.

95% of mounts are steel, they'll just bend and look hilarious if you overload them, not shatter.

I've always gotten mounts from Selby: https://www.selby.com.au/tv-brackets-stands/tv-brackets-and-…

Good choices and great customer service

    • Yes I've also made multiple purchases over the years with Selby including at least three TV brackets and very happy with their products.

  • $58 from good guys commercial if you have access

  • Might be a dumb question, is this compatible with Sony Bravia?

    • Yes, I dare say any modern TV will be VESA mount compatible

      • I’m biting it then, thx

Get the Crest one from bunnings for $39 works a charm for my 65" bravia

  • I've installed 2 of these at home. Bloody awesome.

    • page not found. Picture of a snag

      • I left a snag in a cupboard once as a science experiment (see how much salt and preservatives they have). It never went mouldy, and went hard as diamonds.
I recon you could probably bolt one to a wall and hold a TV (after about 7 months)

        • Wieners are so amazing when they're hard aren't they? Cheers mate, saved me a fortune, gonna bolt mine to the wall
