On until Monday.
All flights include 7kg carry on luggage.
Obviously beware of border closures, the rumoured Delta Plus and any other mishaps that 2021 can bring.

oh come on, it was a joke!
My ad-copy career is over
I loved it. Thank you :)
Out of interest..who would fly if Jetstar actually paid you take the flight?
Bugger all takers still I recon with expensive PCR tests and potential quarantine both sides…let alone potentially being infected.
Jetstar needs to pivot. Freight is backed up world wide, do that.
2022 flights!
Even QLD plans to open border to fully vaccinated with no quarantine this Dec! Seems WA is close behind, telling its citizens to vaccinate asap.
And plenty of intrastate flights on sale that don't require tests or quarantine now - if that's still required next year!
The problem is the current vaccine does not stop you being infected, and you can still pass it on, and as we see, vaccinated people are still dieing. Don't get me wrong, the vaccine is still our best current defence, but the longer we keep this in circulation (or provide it opportunity to do so), the more opportunity it has to evolve. If it becomes like MERS, then we are in deep poop (Corona virus with a 33% fatality rate). Current vaccines are still our best available option, but it's not the answer.
However, our government has a horse it could back (that looks to cease viral shedding), but it doesn't even make news headlines. The clinical trial requires unvaccinated people in a low risk age group. So they have taken it to Iran to trial.

In summary, remember back in Feb 2020 when Scomo said we are unlikely to be over this until mid July 2020…and we were all "man.. July!!". So with current vaccines, death rates on the up (including those fully vaccinated), Delta variants continuing to do what they do etc I don't see 2022 being much different. Hope I'm wrong, but the current vaccine technology still isn't there yet.
That the vaccine does not stop people contracting the virus should be understood.
As well as the protective effect of being fully vaccinated limiting picking it up & less hospitalisation if contacted.
Its discussed in many COVID press conferences. Just saw it being discussed on TV.
I see you ignore the vital factor of comorbidity in most deaths of fully vaccinated who contract COVID!
Flying on airlines is rarely forced on people, and the most vulnerable are least likely to be flying. People can make choices & take precautions.
As for The clinical trial requires unvaccinated people in a low risk age group. So they have taken it to Iran to trial.
There's a likely reason it can't be done in Western counties - simple ethical constraints!
@INFIDEL: Looks like actually Phase 1 trial was in Adelaide, Phase 2 at Espinas Palace Hotel in Tehran. Wonder if it's a quarantine hotel?
@beatthatflight: Interesting.
@beatthatflight: Yes, the study was based out of Flinders Uni. But like all good Aussie inventions, they end up overseas.
@INFIDEL: Ages & number of fully immunized who died in NSW (June 16 - Sept 11):
Under 50 0
50-59 1
60-69 0
70-79 7
80-89 6
90-99 7
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-09-29/why-a-small-number-of…
@INFIDEL: Beauty, zero in my cohort. Party time.
@INFIDEL: Sad reflection on aged care in this country… "oh well, they were old anyway". These people are still someone's brother/sister/Mum/Dad. They have likely contributed to society for their entire life. Media has a lot to answer for in this potrayal of 'it's ok, they were old"
70 -79 isn't even that old these days, but they are definitely at higher risk. When 7 a day die on the roads, they freak out.
As for "Flying on airlines is rarely forced on people". It's not the flying element im worried about. It's the contracting and spreading that will still occur bringing it back to the vulnerable. I don't think this current vaccination is being portrayed accurately. It shouldn't be "hurray it's over", it should be get vaccinated and keep isolating yourself as much as you can. I understand people will want to travel to get back to loved ones etc. But I don't think we are at the stage for leisure travel. As I said earlier, if it goes full MERS, then……
@tunzafun001: It was not a heartless "they were old - what did you expect", rather it was an important discussion of risks even when vaccinated, & to understand some in the community are more vulnerable. So extra precautions need to be taken - to not spread the virus, & protect them. Not everyone who wants the vaccine can be vaccinated.
Many elderly die each year in care from the seasonal flu. But maybe not at the moment…
So not surprising elderly also die with COVID, despite being vaccinated. But the underlying health conditions meant they were very very vulnerable. That's why visiting elderly is often restricted.
It shouldn't be "hurray it's over", it should be get vaccinated and keep isolating yourself as much as you can.
Agree!
Morrison made that type of claim with the Covid app - "its just like applying sunscreen to protect yourself". Pure spin & dangerous advice. People here then said they no longer needed to take precautions!! I warned otherwise.
Few now take the basic preventative steps they did when Covid was a new threat - thorough scrubbing hands, etc. Its those measures (I learnt during the H1N1 pandemic when in S Korea & Japan), that need to continue, including mask wearing to limit spread.
Even if you've been double vaccinated!
I worry about the vocal & forceful deniers who take risks, break health rules, and may get Covid. They see no need to isolate or be tested, afterall… COVID doesn't exist!
(Media reports of such a case on Gold Coast at the moment. Fit 30yo - extremely ill. Had travelled to Vic, didn't enter quarantine, brought back Covid. Reports say he denies COVID on his FB… Interesting & troubling! But will wait for the facts!)
On recent regional travels (masks? what masks!), I was repeatedly told its all a conspiracy…
Was denied accommodation because I was doubled vaxed ("you're a health threat to others staying here from that experimental vaccine"). I was shocked!
That business is currently being investigated by a State Covid Task Force, after my complaint to my MP.
I was booked on an interstate Jetstar flight last Friday. (It was cancelled.) So I'm happy to fly, if I can. But I also try to be well informed of the risks & how to prevent the spread of the virus.
Where are we seeing Mel -> Adl for $32? Shows up as $45 for me.
Edit: never mind, turns out that cheaper rate is for Avalon.
Flight dates to 31 March, still a little early for me.
Hi OP, have you got any deals from dubbo to brisabne?
Jetstar says "Where's Dubbo?" ;-)
Don't think Jetstar flies that route> Can always do a search tho. Sorry, not allowed to promote my own site on a non-associated post :)
I booked flights from Adelaide to Melbourne yesterday and was very happy to see the discounted flights. They didn’t show up the Qantas booking site and when I was trying to pay for extra luggage it says you need to buy it at the airport. I went to the Jetstar site thinking I’d be able to book luggage with my flight there and then found the cheaper fares. With the Max bundles they offer for $40, you get tonnes of luggage, meal voucher, can cancel or rebook for free, change name on booking and best of all - lounge access. Arrive early, drink your fill and then hope you find your plane before takeoff. Bargain!
Any news when adelaide will stop requiring quarantine?
The leprechaun has cherry picked routes so dropped service to some places. Take the government money then run (but at least he got a hefty pay rise).
Was there a need for a racist remark on the CEO of the parent company, who generally doesn't have day to day say over Jetstar?
The CEO and marketing team of Jetstar would have come up with the routes on offer not Alan Joyce.
Heightist perhaps, but not racist (particularly as I’m Caucasian too). Being Irish is not a race, but a nationality. Irish, short and with questionable ethics - I think it fits perfectly. The fact you knew who I meant confirms that. He’s the CEO, so he takes responsibility. He’s only too willing to put his mug on tv to get credit for the ‘good’ things, so he can take the grief for the bad.
So its open season for those old derisive slurs against Tasmanians!! wfdTamar loves it! Finds it not in the least bit offensive!!
Brush up on those incest & double headed put downs that wfdTamar finds so nice! And because it's a popular misconception like wfdTamar claims against all Irish people… It must be true!!
"Now get your double headed freakishness back into bed with your mother, who also is is your sister!"
Highly offensive? Discriminatory? Totally unfounded Stereotyping?
No, wfdTamar loves it! ;-)
Discriminatory slurs made on the basis of a person's nationality & inaccurate, inappropriate, derogatory stereotypes of that group - are unacceptable as discrimination.
And as I showed in a discrimination legal case I won - with a sizeable payout (as an Australian, in Australia, refused service by an Australian because I wasn't from overseas), being from the same group doesn't mean you can't discriminate against members of your own group. (That was a major part of the defence by the business!) That is just far worse, not an excuse.
Caucasian…. Are you dark skinned?
Because the definition includes dark skinned people of the Caucasus mountain area covering Russia, Georgia & parts of Azerbaijan.
(White Supremacists don't like that being pointed out!)
Learnt that in the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Hobart! But can we trust an island of criminals??
@INFIDEL: Doesn't apply to me. I'm not Tasmanian :-)
I didn't suggest those characteristics applied to all Irish people. It was a claim about one person who happens to be Irish. Basic logic - there's a difference between saying "That Irishman beats his wife" and "he's Irish, so he beats his wife".
It's more about him being yet another overpaid CEO and about him bilking/bribing the government into payouts, then not providing a service.
Caucasian using the definition in the same way governments and loads of forms use it. It may be a genetic thing. Or you could say UK, or Celtic. Basically roughly the same neck of the woods, roughly the same genetic pot o' soup.
How's about you get off your high horses fellas?
@wfdTamar: I'm not Tasmanian :-)
Strange… you associate strongly with Tasmania, claim to live there, so you are Tasmanian.
I hate all deniers ;-)
I didn't suggest those characteristics applied to all Irish people.
You said it applied to Irish…
"Being Irish is not a race, but a nationality. Irish, short and with questionable ethics"!
You were the one making offensive comments - so expect a vehement response!!
@INFIDEL: So he's not Irish - no foul then?
@wfdTamar: I've chatted, flown with, & talked with Allan.
Whether he claims to be Irish or not, you are the one claimimg that he is & the Irish are all suspect characters - "Irish, short and with questionable ethics"!
Your comments are offensive.
Your only response is to deny what you wrote. So why bother writing when a minute later you say what you wrote wasn't what you wrote??
As your worthless comments are not worth reading - have now hidden all your comments.
@INFIDEL: 'Irish, short and with questionable ethics - I think it fits perfectly'
That meant he's Irish, short and has questionable ethics.
NOT Irish, therefore short and has questionable ethics.
P.S. Gutted I don't have to bother with your trolling.
So are the flights from December not discounted?
"Jetstar Weekend Frenzy" sounds good and all but they really should have gone with "super spreader savings"
