  I used those clipsal downlights in a few residential renos, they seem to have a high failure rate after a year, had to go and replace them last month. Guessing it is because of the integrated led and driver in one downlight rather than a separate driver away from downlight, to much heat. Also some what taller than most other brand of downlights

    Saw this now would not have bought it… hopefully they are easy to change yourself and no hassle to claim warranty. It is 2 years.

Can't think of any reason why anyone would want to switch between those three tones for a hallway/lobby light but good deal anyway

  You wouldn't. They have a switch on the back to select so it isn't convenient to do so anyway.

I hate how 3000k is always the lowest so many lights go. It's eye searingly blue compared to the lights they're meant to be replacing.

  I totally agree. I recently put some downlights which take GU10. The 2700k ones from IKEA have been a God send for bedrooms.

I've seen long life claims of x000 hours on LED downlights for a while, but I always see failures at the 2 year mark.

  Usually the fault is within the led driver, so technically they are not wrong. Usually heat kills the driver, especially if its burried in insulation.
