Been looking for a way to minimise latency on Nintendo Switch online games and a lot of people recommend using ethernet rather than wifi.

While the new OLED switch has a built in ethernet port, this will give you the same feature on the older switch for a fraction of the price from a reputable brand.

This one has AX88179 which is the ONLY chip that works with Nintendo Switch. For those not looking to buy one for the Nintendo switch, you can find heaps with RTL8153 chip for sub $15.

  I have this for my switch.

  Yes 1gbit switch speeds are legit.

  Unlike the built in ethernet in the OLED is only 100mbit.

    Yep, it applies for TV's too. These plug and play USB to ethernet port dongles push 1Gbps instead of the 100Mbps ports that come with all TV's. Not really necessary anyway in most cases, since WiFi pushes way beyond 100mbps, but some people prefer the LAN stability.

  I bought a USB 2.0 version for a Nintendo Wii last week, works a treat. Have found UGREEN to be a reliable brand.

  Received mine today. Plugged it in, tested wired connection and switch instant recognised it. Never seen the switch ethernet icon before!
