    This is the last straw..

  • I wonder how hard it is to make these as lots of sugar cane in OZ ??

Raw material is not the issue. Overhead and labour cost, I suspect.

Similarly, NZ pines are shipped to the PRC for manufacturing before the furniture is shipped back to ANZ.

I was shocked to read an article some years ago that importing ice cream from the EU is cheaper to produce locally.

  • Shelf-life 18 months

Some reviewer say they received stock with only 4 months until expiration.

    • Ashes to ashes. Organic to dust. Plastics for life… sigh :-(

      • Metal is the way to go.

    • I doubt they’d turn to dust the day after expiring. Anyways a straw a day and they’ll run out 20 days prior to expiring

      • Yes. Probably good for kids' party. Wouldnt buy it for normal usage.

I guess commercial venue/outlet should use them.

  • taste like coconut or sugarcane when using these straws to drink water?

I had the coffee one from last time they did a deal and tried it with water. It just like any normal plastic straw. Definitely no coffee "aroma" or taste whatsoever

DO NOT BUY IT. I just received it today and it's expiring on the 2nd of November 2021.

Mine too. Is yours sealed? Mine arent.

Normally i am okay with it, but covid casts doubt in my mind.

      • No sealed. Very disappointed :(

        • Wonder how safe the expired straws are.

@[Deactivated]: Msged EQUO, and they have explained the expiry date will be removed, like other straws being sold. Also made recommendation to use a paper/sticker sealing the lid to the container.

Will keep mine and give it a go.

            Excellent customer service.

            • @[Deactivated]: I messaged them a few days ago when I bought my own deal and they explained the same thing. Great CS, they even provided me with a 30% off coupon (which is 30% off the price without the 50% coupon).

Brought this deal down to $3.40

Nice dealing with them. Thanks OP

    • Same here. Positive vote revoked.

    • Just got mine this week - 2nd November 2021 expiry too….what a sham

      • easiest way to get some payback here is to leave a review on amazon stating the above.
