      I enjoy your banter jv

But you can add these to your Kindle account, and you keep them whether you maintain Prime membership or not.

      • -2

It's part of the normal membership, like Amazon Music Prime…

This kind of stuff belongs in forums…

        • +8

Not the same, you don't keep anything from Amazon Music Prime.

It's similar to Prime Gaming, where they add a number games each month you can keep.

          • +8

@jwh: Personally, you're both right. Whilst it is nice to be reminded about 'free' items from Prime, it's probably better to list all the Prime benefits in one monthly post.

        • +1

I disagree. This is like those free games from Indigala…

          • @[Deactivated]: I don't subscribe to Indigala.

            • +1

@jv: Oh, that’s great. So this proves my point that it’s valuable. You’d never know about the free games you can add to your account.

Just like these books, the availability of the titles is time limited, but once on your account, you keep them.

Should we post all the movies on Netflix too then?

New ones added and removed each week…

                • @jv: Maybe treat this as a sub and add the SUBS tag

        • Nowhere in their T&C can I read that you get to choose 2 free books to keep as part of your standard Prime membership.

Prime Reading – Members enjoy free access to a selection of more than 1,000 e-books, short reads, comics, travel guides, children’s books and more at any given time. With Amazon’s free Kindle reading app, members can read on any device. Members can start reading now by downloading the free Kindle reading app for mobile phones and tablets or by using any Kindle e-reader and Fire Tablet.

          • @Snoop: This isn’t prime reading. This is a purchase that has a $ offset to make it $0

    • +3

If jv is complaining then it must be a bargain

  • +29

Well, I appreciate the reminder and list of available books every month.

      • It's a reminder of a regular bargain

        • It's a normal inclusion of the subscription.

          • @jv: True, but free books are always a bargain.

            • -1

@jebdra: They're not free, they are part of the subscription you pay for.

Much like the movies on Amazon prime.

  • +9

Great deal, it's often 1 free book, so 2 is a nice bonus.
I pay for Amazon Prime for free shipping so 2 free books that I get to keep after my membership expires is a great deal

    • +2

      Hahaha great point, man!

  • damn, just ebooks? not audible books too?

    • +1

I just got an offer for another free trial of audible (I must have had 3 free trials in 2 years at this point). Maybe take a look at the audible and see if you're eligible.

Timing is good, I was keen to get a hold of the new Dave Grohl autobiography out next week

      • +1

nop, no free trials for me.

they should really think about adding audiobooks to prime, even if its 1 credit every 2 month, I'd sign up to prime ….Audible is just too expensive, and don't have enough time to listen to at least 1 book every month to make the most of it.

  • +4

Anyone else think we're at a point where we should have a separate page for subscription deals similar to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/pages/pizza-coupons that you can click to just get an overview of all this stuff / new blockbuster movies added to streaming services instead of posting them as 'deals'

    • +6

      No

      • +1

Would you prefer this sort of thing not be posted? or on the forums?

    • Yes

    • It's be happy with that.

Better than putting them in the forum where there likely just get lost in the chatter.

  • Thanks op a great deal

  • Thanks Op

  • Do you get any free 2 books available on Prime Amazon or you get only 2 from a selected list by Amazon?

    • 2 from the list op posted.

  • +2

Thanks op! 2 books, nice change! I like this post because otherwise I will not remember to check!

    I chose:
    Her perfect family
    A day like this

    • +1

      Thank you :)
Although your taste maybe different things to mine, I'm too lazy atm to choose.
      You help me here.

  • +2

The only Amazon deals that don't go out of stock the minute they're posted

  • +1

They always send you an email at some point in the first few days about this, but it’s nice to be reminded before then.

    • If, like me, you forget to take action after the first email, they also send an email near the end of the month :)
Wish they’d do the same with the Prime Gaming benefit…

  • Are they usually these themes? Would there be any biographies, history?

    • +1

Yes, there has been biographies in the past, and historical fiction, but not history.

  • Thanks OP, new to Amazon Prime and didn’t know about this. Cheers.

  • +1

"This title is not currently available for purchase"
    What have I done wrong?

    • I have that same message because my Kindle account is a US one and my Prime subscription is an Australian one. You can convert your Kindle account to an Australian one if you're interested in these books.

  • +1

Thanks OP. A reminder of a good deal is always welcome, although I'm finding it hard to find 2 of these that I'd want. Still, never look a gift horse in the mouth.

  • +2

I just wish there was a sci-fi option. It's such a rare occurrence on First Reads.
