[TAS] Free Trade Breakfast 7-9am 20th October 2021 @ Bunnings Warehouse, Kingston

110

I just received an e-mail advising of an upcoming Bunnings Trade Breakfast to be held at my local Bunnings here in Kingston Tasmania from 7am to 9am 20th October. Check with your own local store in case this is happening at other locations. They are offering a free bacon and egg muffin with a tea, coffee or juice. My husband and I both have PowerPass cards as we have an ABN, (these Bunnings PowerPass cards are great as they allow a 5% discount on most items when making purchases, and you only need to have an ABN to apply for one).

They specify that the breakfast is a "Trade" breakfast, however from past experience when they have had these events, they never ask you to show your PowerPass Card or prove you are a tradie. On numerous times I have come to these with my 12-year-old daughter on the way to dropping her off to school, and they have handed us both the breakfast (and I didn't show or was asked anything).

When: Wednesday 20th October 7:00am-9:00am
Where: Bunnings Kingston Carpark
163 Channel Highway
Kingston 7050
RSVP: [email protected]

This is a copy of the e-mail I got:

"We would like to reach out and contact you as a valued Trade Customer at Bunnings Kingston.

We are running a Trade event this October, based around Paint and how Bunnings Kingston can assist with all your paint needs.
As well as this we would like to inform you of the great new discounts available to you as a PowerPass customer when purchasing paint!
We offer a full range of Dulux paints, a brand well known and trusted within the paint industry, along with a full range of Taubmans paint, another brand with a high reputation for quality.

Taubman’s have recently introduced the new Taubman’s Professional Trade Range!
On Wednesday the 20th of October we would like to invite you to our Trade BBQ Breakfast
We will have on offer, a FREE hot breakfast

Bacon & Egg Muffins (sauces available)
Coffee or Tea
and Juice

We will have both a representative from Dulux and Taubmans on hand to demonstrate their products and will be able to answer any questions you may have.

As a bonus we will also have an AEG representative on hand showcasing the latest 18v Framing Nailer
Which is set to be a game changer as it has the ability to fire 3x nails a second!

Brendan (myself) and Ali, would love the opportunity to both cook brekky for you and also meet you face to face to see what we can do to further assist you and your business

For your convenience we have added a copy of the invite, to keep on the fridge!
Hope to see you there!

Free Trade Breakfast at Bunnings Warehouse

Sounds like a great way to spread COVID. Only 40% or people 16+ there are fully vaccinated.

    • +3

There's been no community cases of COVID since May 2020. Everything has been normal like pre-COVID days in over a year.

Plenty of time for you to fly down here and quarantine. We can have a Bunnings brekkie together xo

None detected. Doesn't mean there aren't any there today…

I'm double-vaxxed. Will they let me in?

        • +4

Probably not, and that won't be anything to do with your vaccination status.

    • +4

It's actually 57.8% fully vaccinated and 75.8% with one dose (as of 29th Sep 2021).
Secondly, we don't have a single COVID case here in Tasmania and haven't for many many months. Secondly, our borders are slammed shut so no one with COVID even has the chance of getting in. Our premiere Peter Gutwin also indicated that he doesn't plan to open the borders even when we reach 80% fully vaccinated. So I think we are safer than the rest of Australia at the moment.
Lastly, (in my opinion), we need to return to some form of normality as these lockdowns are causing more harm than the virus itself in regards to suicides, non-covid medical conditions going undetected, loss of people's livelihoods (jobs and businesses) and the enormous mental strain this is having on so many people. I feel so sorry for what people are going through in NSW and Victoria as well as other states.

Just went to your link and if you check the most up-to-date page here: https://covidlive.com.au/report/daily-vaccinations-people/ta… It proves my stats of 57.8% fully vaccinated and 75.8% with one dose are totally correct. Just look at the top of the page.

Your site even predicts Tasmania will reach 60% double dose in 3 days. The site even predicts that by the 20th of October we will be at 70% double dosed, ready for this breakfast!

            @Diana0777:

            Your site even predicts

            It's not my site.

            Stop spreading vaccination misinformation…

            • +7

@jv: EDIT: for accuracy… I rephrase that to…"the site YOU provided me the link to".
How am I spreading vaccination misinformation when I am quoting figures from the site you provided which is a live, up-to-date, reputable site??

              • @Diana0777:

                Much better…

It's a good site. I'd rather trust that than random people on the internet.

How am I spreading vaccination misinformation

You claimed it was my covid site, when it wasn't.

                • +7

@jv: OK, well now that we have established that the site you provided me actually back up my statistics exactly, why did you say in your original comment that "Only 40% or people 16+ there are fully vaccinated."
Wouldn't that be more like "spreading vaccination misinformation"?

                  • @Diana0777:

why did you say in your original comment that "Only 40% or people 16+ there are fully vaccinated."

                    Because my subtraction was wrong.

I used one of those calculator watches being posted on OzBargain recently….

      • I agree with you about the need for normality and that it’s completely reasonable to go get free breaky at Bunnings in Tassie. Just wanted to point out that suicides have not increased as a result of COVID and COVID restrictions they’ve actually gone down (still too high) https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-10-01/abs-data-suicide-rate… this also doesn’t mean people aren’t suffering in other ways.

This is probably the best source of vaccination data for Australia https://www.health.gov.au/initiatives-and-programs/covid-19-… As of yesterday vaccination rates in Tassie were 80.3% first dose and 65% second dose 👏 will be even higher by the time this breaky is on.
