@Bafranz: no luck with the pop up chat - it just times out and ends the chat :(

                    • +1

@truongd89: Yeah they’re busy, but they’re the people that give the code, might take a couple tries, some people type something to keep chat open every 10 mins, good luck on your hunt.. I said I was upgrading old Samsung to new s21 for a code fyi

                    • @truongd89: How’d you go?

          • @jassssone: I got the Justin guy, but I told a different story that I heard from a friend that I should check with them if I'm able to get a voucher for an upgrade. Gave it to me straight away…

  • Will they deliver today in regional Victoria when it's a public holiday today?

  • Does anyone know the courier they use? I have a tracking number from Samsung - provided over the phone, can’t seem to track with it via Aus Post or Star Track.

    • +1

StarTrack but maybe not picked up from warehouse yet so not in the system

Your goods are on the way!
    Order Date: 16 Sep 2021

Got this email a few minutes ago while the device has been delivered on 21st. Lol what a joke.

    • Haha yeah got that too

  • Received an email From Samsung, and it says there is a LATE RETURN CHARGE?

    "Hi xxx,

Thank you for recently completing your Samsung Trade-Up order. We hope you're loving your new Samsung device.

Once your new phone is successfully set up, you'll need to return your original device within 7 days to avoid a late return charge. It's as easy as:

1 - Transfer your data to your new phone

2 - Unlock and disable all passwords and security features on your original device

3 - Erase any data by performing a factory reset and remove your sim card

4 - Take your original device and this email into your nearest Australia Post outlet

5 - Australia Post will take your original device and return it (at no charge) when you show them the eParcel label attached to this email"

    • same here there is no not return option

    • Same. From asurion, not Samsung.

    • Did you reply to the email asking for no return?

  • Mine says it's on its way and was meant to be delivered yesterday. My tracking info hasn't updated in 2 days.

I found that the T&C at the Samsung ordering page is linked to here:

    https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/term…

-Device Non-Return Administration Fee is mentioned in clause 5.6(a)

But the email asking me to return the original device has a link to a different T&C here:

    https://samsung-australia.tradeup.asurion.com/documents/Sams…

-Clause 5.6(a) only mentions the Device Non-Return Fee, there is no mention of "Device Non-Return Administration Fee"

As confusing as it is with Samsung, I think I can save the hassle of returning an in-eligible device to avoid that non-return admin fee according to the T&C in the email.

    • I found the same thing when I purchased my phone. In the trade up APP, it only mentioned Non-Return Fee and no Non-Return Administration Fee but in the Samsung website, they mentioned Non-Return Administration Fee. I think maybe Asurion won't charge you the Non-Return Administration Fee but Samsung will.

  • So I just got emailed the shipping label to then take to AusPost. It says to just bring your old device and the email, and they'll do the rest. I'm assuming AusPost don't then provide a box to put it in, and I'll still have to secure the thing before handing it across? Has anyone else sent their device back yet?

I have a spare $50 newsletter code that got sent through after I had ordered anyway. Reply to this comment if you use it so others know.

    MA9-E4L9-8PL9-WT9T

    • There's a Samsung megathread where people who want the code are asking for them… might be a better way to send your next code rather than a free for all here

    • +1

I'll take it please. Thanks so much!

  • Is there any special magical incantation you have to invoke to get a live chat session to initiate?

Do Samsung have staff? Had chat windows open for hours with no response.

    • +1

Get in early at 8AM, don't have to wait.

      • Damn I was in at 7:45 today but didn't check.. okay thanks for the tip 🧙‍♂️

  • +2

Finally managed to get a $100 discount code through chat. Make sure you select products and shopping as the option. Also if they ask you what phone you currently have then you need to tell them that you have a Samsung. I said i have a Samsung S10 and they immediately gave me the voucher code.

    • Thanks for the tips 👍

  • I Tried getting a $50 code but its taking forever. Does anyone have a spare for me? Would be great thanks

    • +1

I sent an email to [email protected] telling them I was buying the phone today and they sent it within 30mins

      • Thanks. I just got mine. Got a S21+ with Samsung care+

  • Whats is everyone's thoughts on Samsung care. worth getting at 50% off?

    • +1

I think it's could be worthwhile of paying $273.5 after all ($124.5 Samsung Care+ and $149 Swap fee) to swap for a brand new due to accidental damage or downgraded battery if we buy the S21 Ultra 512GB.

    • I changed my mind. Spoke to online chat agent who confirms that the swap device is a brand new, same model, not a refurbished. However, the T&Cs say different things in (a) and (e). Also, no where mentions whether the 2 years warranty restarts (I guess it does not?)

Like Mobile Device means a Device, compared to the Registered Device,
      that:
      (a) may be new or refurbished;
      (b) is of similar kind, quality and functionality;
      (c) may be a different model or colour;
      (d) has a different IMEI; and
      (e) does not include any Device Accessories.

  • +1

Thanks so much for this - Had an S8+ and got $40 for the trade in, 200 off the S21 - $100 coupon code from the chat $50 newsletter sign up coupon code and then the $500 trade in

    Total Cost $359 for a 128gb S21

Had to get purple :P but I'll put a case on it.

Cant complain when JB want 1050 for the same phone

    • Result 👍

  • Wow! Took all morning but just managed to order the Grey 256gb S21 for $429 but will not be sending them my partner's iPhone! So $499. Thanks for all the tips.

My one tip to get the $50 is to create a new account using something like ProtonMail account - my voucher came within an hour.

Now, what is the quickest way to cancel Telstra order! :D

  • +1

To those whose order is dispatched to no where .. I managed to get through to a rep on the phone this morning, star track still haven't picked up a large batch of orders and they are simply sitting there at the Samsung warehouse

The rep wasn't able to tell me what next - simply that star track haven't come

So who knows when we will get our phones, mines been in this limbo for 1 week now

    • Startrack are planning on going on Strike so this is going to throw a spanner in the works and delay shipment

      • I thought the strike was 24hours only and yesterday?

        • I have requested an escalation and Samsung can only put it through the "back office" which will take 3-4 business days. They will decide what to do, such as assigning it to a different courier, etc.

Asked to submit a complaint, but all they can do was note it under customer feedback.

          Useless.

          • +1

@tjioer: Finally received the shipment notification SMS that my order has been sent out and will be delivered by 27/09. Order was placed on 16/09.

    • I am in the same boat. Ordered on 16th, but order still at warehouse. Apart from delays from Star Track, Samsung order management is also all messed up as people who ordered 2-3 days later, already received their orders. Samsung isn’t following any sequence to ship older orders first. Can’t do anything except just to wait.

    • It's quite interesting that some got picked up but not some. It seems the ones going to west and north got picked up to keep their ETA but the ones going to NSW and VIC got left behind.

    • Just out of curiosity what phones did you guys order?
      I'm waiting on a s21+ 256gb phantom black. Ordered Saturday (18th) morning

      • +1

Ordered the same phone, same colour at 00:37 on 22 Sep. The order status has been dispatched for 2+ days.

      • S21+ 128GB silver.

        Ordered Saturday 18th Sept afternoon.

      • S21 128GB on 19th. Located in NSW

  • Anyone got a $50 voucher they are willing to send me?

    Thanks all :)

  • Those that aren't sending the phone for trade in (I'm not - I used my missus iPhone 7 Plus to get the code!!) what are you doing.. sending nothing back and risking the $60 admin fee or sending an older/different phone back?

Obviously I'm not expecting to get the trade in value, that's fine but be nice to avoid the 'admin fee'.

    • +1

Still working out how to do this:

Device Non-Return Administration Fee means a $60 administration fee which will be charged by
Asurion in addition to the Device Non-Return Fee.

Device Non-Return Fee means a fee which is equal to the amount of the discount You received when
Your unique Trade ID was applied at the point of sale when You purchased Your New Samsung Device
Online in accordance with clause 5.2 of these Terms and Conditions.

      5.2
Once the Samsung Trade-Up App confirms that Your Existing Device Qualifies for the Program,
      You will be:
      (a) advised of the discount that You will receive off the Purchase Price of a New Samsung
Device if You purchase Your New Samsung Device Online and trade-in Your Existing
      Device to Us; and
      (b) provided with a unique Trade ID that You can use to apply that discount at the point of
sale when purchasing Your New Samsung Device Online from Samsung

    • They will definitely charge you admin fee if you send a different phone then the one you traded in 😊

      • +1

As long as they don't charge the bonus, the $60 I think most people can cop

      • If you return an ineligible device, clause 5.6(b) is applicable instead of 5.6(a). As the admin fee is in 5.6(a), how, under which clause can they charge the admin fee?

        • Guess there's 2 ways for people

          1. Don't send anything = $60+$trade up base fee

          2. Send in a random phone = $trade up base amount only?

          • @Archer12: 5.6 If You:

            (a) fail to return Your Existing Device to Us within seven days after the date on which You
receive Your New Samsung Device, You may be charged a Device Non-Return Fee in
accordance with clause 6.2(a) below; or

            (b) return a device to Us that is an In-eligible Device, You may be charged an In-eligible
Device Fee in accordance with clause 6.2(b) below; or

            (c) return a Mis-Graded Device, You may be charged a Mis-Grading Fee in accordance with
            clause 6.2(c) below.

            1. INFORMATION ABOUT PRICING

6.1 You will need to use a valid credit card or debit card to purchase Your New Samsung Device
            Online.

6.2 You will also need to enter valid credit card details into the Samsung Trade-Up App, which only
accepts credit card details (debit card details are not acceptable). You authorize Us to charge
            Your credit card:

            (a) a Device Non-Return Fee if You do not return Your Existing Device to Us within seven
days after the date on which You receive Your New Samsung Device.

            (b) an In-eligible Device Fee if You return a device which is an In-eligible Device. Upon
payment of Your In-eligible Device Fee, Your In-eligible Device will be returned to You.

          • +1

@Archer12: So if you send a randon device, ofcourse they will charge you Trade-in value plus in-eligible Device Fee as well.

            • @OZBsince2018: Makes sense.. I'm happy to lose my trade in value + 60, I'm planning to not send in my device and sell privately

  • Is anyone able to use the $50 newsletter voucher together with the $100 voucher? It doesn't seem to work or I only get $100 off in total instead of $150.

    • Try putting the newsletter voucher first as your order might be under $350.
If this isn't the case then im not sure

      • Thanks will try that!

  • +5

I m looking at iphone 13 deals and laughing at it. We can buy 3 S21's for the price of one Iphone 13 with less features or just as good as S21.

    I feel for Apple fans.

  • I have a strong feeling the delay in deliveries is due to StarTrack prioritising iPhone 13 deliveries… apparently Telstra and Optus are also using them.

The phone launched today so they want to make sure everyone gets their iPhones.

  • Hey Guys,

Anyone got a spare $100 code? Tried multiple times with several agents with no luck :( Thanks!

  • Is the trade-in to get a discount working for anyone now? When i choose the trade-in option at the checkout, and type in "SA" only.. I get a Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment. So I get the error before even typing out the whole code.

    • I'm getting the same thing too. Any solutions?

      • I was told to send email to [email protected] through the chat. I might try a different credit card tonight and see how it goes.

  • +1

agent on live chat said they where told not to offer anymore chat codes missed out :(

    • I got one this afternoon, around 1pm

      • I tried 4 times and then just said why not and the guy said not possible what was your trick?

        • Just say you're currently using an old samsung phone and want to upgrade to the latest S21 and were wondering if there was any loyaly incentive/discount.. and you'll get it.

        • Hi

I currently have an old samsung phone, I'm looking to upgrade to either the newly released Iphone 13 or stay with Samsung with the S21 series. My friend told me there's an $100 loyalty discount voucher that can be used online. Are you able to assist me?

    • I got mine just 20 mins ago

      • I got my chat code in the past half our, agent name 'Kim'. Dont give up $100 people!!

  • Ordered on 17th Sep. My order is still sitting at their warehouse after 5 business days. I'm from ACT.

  • anyone still getting the following error when putting the trade up code in? any fix for this?

Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment

    • Yeah, I don't think the trade-in is working right now..

    • You have to put in your credit card information in the app first, then it will work.

      • Have cc details in, deleted app, re installed, tried new code, tried different cc, nothing won’t work past week, asked Samsung chat they just say they’re looking into it

    • I have just placed an order, no issue for me. keep trying across different browsers if needed

  • I got a $100 code just now so they definitely are still giving them out. All I said was that I was trying to buy a new phone tonight, they asked if I had a Samsung and I told them I did. Took about 10 minutes total.

    • Yeah it works people are just doing it wrong

    • Can you give me some more info? Which department did you select? I just tried now and told them I have an old A70 but they want the IMEI. I can’t get it because the phone is old/broken and the screen doesn’t work.

      • +2

        Select Product and Shopping department

If they ask for your IMEI, then you are in the wrong department

        • Legend. Thanks for that. Got it straight away. Now to chase up the newsletter code…

          • @Pistoll: What were you clicking before lol??

            • @Homr: Hahaha I was on my phone and it was early. I went via the support pages on the Samsung store. Obviously a different chat. Thanks for the help.

  • Can the $100 code be used for accessories? Or extended warranty? I was told they needed more info to provide the code.i decided to go ahead without the $100 code and purchase the S21 and received the email after the purchase with the $100 code which is at this point useless!

    • If you can't use it and if possible can you please dm it to me so I can use it? Thanks

      • It takes a couple minutes to get it through live chat

  • +5

Just purchased the S21 Ultra 256GB for 749!
    Original price 1649
    500 Trade in discount
    200 Loyalty Voucher (CDS)
    100 Loyalty Voucher (ODS)
    100 Chat Voucher (EDS)
I couldn’t use the 50 dollar voucher at the end because the total came down to under 350. But all in all it was a good deal!

    • How did you get $200 voucher and what was your device's trade in value?

      • +1

200 dollar was for the loyalty voucher. I told Samsung chat support I had a broken S20 and sent pictures and the serial number to them. They got it validated and gave me a voucher. I had an iPhone 11 Pro Max and the trade in value for it was 565 dollars. Obviously I won’t send it back to them.

        • If you don’t send it back, will you have to pay back the trade in price of $565?

          • +1

@Amanda1992: I’d assume yes, and potentially a 60 dollar add on fee. If that gets charged then overall it’ll be 809 but it’ll still be a good deal.
