Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Silver) - Unlocked - $489 + Delivery at Kogan

90

I don't know if this is really a "new deal".

Essentially it's an update of http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/64819 where the price was $499 + delivery, while it is now $489 + delivery

Delivery $19 brings total to $508 - or may be higher to some areas

if $500 delivered is your target, im sure you can forgo buying lunch one day and just pull the trigger on this deal…

It's not about the money for some people. It's all about the thrill you get when you get a good deal.

        • I used to think like that when buying tech. But then im also more impatient than the average joe. So when a good deal breaks out I'd think it'll go cheaper and pass on it, then id wait a while and no deal.

The deals usually come a week or two after id've bought the product.

Good rule of thumb, never buy unless you really need it now.

        • krisspy - if I followed that rule of thumb - never to buy unless you really need it - I would never buy a smartphone, and would probably never have bought most of the tech I have bought over the years.

        but I like lunch….

but as said below, it's a psychological barrier. a limit I set myself. When I saw this phone, I told myself I'd only buy it if it dropped to $500 or below. There's nothing really wrong with my current Nexus S, so buying a Galaxy Nexus is really just spoiling myself.

you'll do well in investing. you stick to your strategies.

  • Some people will not buy it at a price they are not comfortable with they are waiting for the right price they have in their head. For example Ebay auctions, buyers will only watch or bid on items when they are 99c or at a price they are willing to pay. I bought this phone on Ebay for $510 through an auction so this deal is about the same.

Do we really need deals like this re-posted every 4 days because the price dropped $10?

    • +1

That's my question - what is the policy? Ozbargainers want to know about the price drop, but an edit of the previous deal or a comment in the previous deal may get missed.

If I spot the price drop again, should I repost or edit this deal? What's the policy? What do people prefer?

[I am watching prices - not yet sure whether to buy the Nexus or the Note or the SII - and am happy to wait a little while for price reductions. I would prefer an Aussie product, and I can claim back GST - so these Kogan and Shopping Square deals are not where I would prefer to shop - but seemingly they beat current Aussie prices even after claimg back Aussie GST.]

What harm has it caused? Has it affected you negatively? Relax and take a chill pill.

Don't like the post then don't go out of your way to comment on it.

I'm with you 'davedave'! I would love to see OzBargin transition into almost a Wiki styled (anyone edit/update). That way there could be a "Samsung Galaxy Nexus @ Kogan" page that people could subscribe to and receive updates on price changes or other updates. It would also save a deal/post dying (when addition info needs to be added) when the OP stops watching.
Words are nice…. but they certainly aren't trailed & tested code Scotty and other Mods could implement into the site tomorrow! ;)

Thanks 'Forgot69' - I am with you too! That would be great!

PS I assume orange123 aimed their words at wxyz234 rather than at me.

  • I was almost going to buy this today until i saw the apparent release date for the S3 as April. Might just hold on a while longer.

    • Samsung has officially denied an April release date now. More likely to be the Olympic games (Jul 27) in my opinion.

    • There is always going to be something better released soon. But I'm sure it wont be the same price bracket.

  • Where did you find out details about the galaxy s3 being released in April. What will the estimated rrp of the phone be like $1000. Have to wait a little while longer for the s3 price to drop or to see if someone here can get a good deal.

  • never buy anything from Kogan? what is the delivery time from this company? I know SQ take forever to delivery coz from oversea. how about kogan!!?

    • I've ordered new products from Kogan before, I like to try to defend them because they've always been super quick for me. My Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 arrived 2 days after release date.

  • Now $429 + $19 shipping
