        Nah, not that long. I have a set of these. The mouse can last around 3 months on a good battery on day to day usage(a bit heavy). Please note that there is no off button on the keyboard and mouse, unless if you remove the batteries. While the keyboard, I haven't change the battery since I bought it last year.

    Keep in mind that this set has the big transmitter that significantly sticks out of the USB port.

    What dorian_gray said, and the USB receiver is not an unifying receiver.

    Also, the keyboard has no LED lights for Caps & Num Locks, and it has no software indicators either.
