As suggested here, this thread will be a megathread to ask whether a particular site is legitimate.
Any individual posts will be merged into here, in the future.
That Facebook Page you linked is irrelevant. It's Topnets not topnet. Funny thing is that that facebook page if you look at transparency report doesn't have any moderators? It maybe a company trying to confuse people to get reputation from a well established company.
I think I should start a flickits ozbargain account (the opposite of this) and start trolling ;)
If you look at the proper facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/bluetti.au it does have a magnitude more chinese moderators/admin but using third world moderator's to reduce cost isn't unheard of for multnational companies.
Primary country/region location for people who manage this Page includes:
China (17)
Germany (1)
United States (1)
Vietnam (1)
Not available (3)
Also it's true that more and more solar and power products are being made in china….
@brisdaz: I was more trying to find legitimate ties to Australia and their ACN to work out if they'd abide by ACL and such, there doesn't seem to be much info out there.. .
@FLICKIT: There's a few competition posts and some of them ozbargainers have won. Perhaps ask them?
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/competition/bluettipower.com.au
@brisdaz: You really seem determined to find these small-time fringe sites and legitimise them for some reason.
Why would you buy from a site that doesn't seem 100%? Or is this just for that sweet sweet referral link?
@spackbace: Can you give examples?
It's more China is like Japan just after World War II - Made in Japan meant bad quality like Made in China does now.
Also I was more looking for examples of stores with referrals on Ozbargain that had no benefit for referees but were still posted here. I just came across it and decided to post.
Bluetti Australia has been unbanned after a review. Our previous concerns have been addressed except this one.
https://www.bluettipower.com.au/pages/terms-of-use
SECTION 18 - GOVERNING LAW
These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of United States.
However, since the company is in Australia and selling to Australians, the Australian Consumer Law overrides its deceptive terms of use.
Hi alvian, with the comments above, don't you think there's still a few red flags?
Firstly, I am not neil.
Please elaborate on what matters raised the red flags for you.
Looking for a pair of halogen bulbs and found https://www.ledperf.com.au/
They are significantly cheaper than other local sources, comparable to overseas websites such as powerbulbs.com and amazon UK.
Any experience with this guys and the stuff they sell?
Ah, I see, it's not an AU website. Almost placed an order and in for a long wait.
Was searching for protein powder and came to this website https://goodandcare.com/p/nutrition-supplements
Everything seems to be $35.02 on this website which raises alarm.
I mean, the red flags are there…
"good and care" doesn't scream supplements
.com address
Contact us is only an email address
Same price across everything
That's before getting to the WHOIS showing the page was created this year, etc etc
I was surprised to see that 5lb protein powders are for $35 (normally around $90 on other websites)
And you didn't think that might be an issue? lol
@spackbace: hahaha. That's why I checked here
This website has heaps of different gift cards that offer % off them. Eg jbhifi has 5% off. You have to join to get the offer, however joining is free.
Ive never seen this website before so I was wondering it is legit or not.
Been around for donkey's years.
You need to be part of a Union, Union details & membership number required to join.
How do you join and become a member? And do you know what a union is ?
Can I join the ozbargain union for this?
Wait, so did union shopper have less discounts prior to the last election?
Who cares?
Every time a Labor government rules the unions have priority.
Total irrelevant comment. Well done!
That's kinda payless69's shtick. Labor Labor labooooor!
Do they card? I remember it being cash only via bank transfer.
Pretty sutr they do now.
Asked for a price for shokz openrun pro. They came back with $219 from jb hifi (friemds and family price. You still have to pay through them.
I walked into jb hifi and said "hey. Ive been quoted this price through union shopper which i believe is your friends and family price, are you able to price match? If not ill buy through them"
They were happy match it and i then payed with discounted GCs.
Union shopper still has a small purpose
Is this legit online Macpac outlet?
https://aumacoutlet.store/pages/About-Us_c60e67d3
The price is cheaper than Macpac clearance price.
Has anyone bought anything from them?
Bro really…
It do be like that
@Jimothy Wongingtons: fr fr no cap gang
Found it from Facebook push advertisement
99.9% of Facebook ads are scams. This one is not the exception.
Cheers

Hi all.
Looking at getting a creality ender 3 S1 pro.
The prices on the website www.creality.store.com are very good compared to other websites. From what I have read creality does not have an official store in Australia as it does on the US/UK so assume it's a third party site.
Has anyone had any experience with this site?
.store
Not even once.
How do you know it's a store if they don't put it in the address though?
From looking around the interwebz, it's a fake site though you may get the real thing
As always, that comes with a caveat
https://www.reddit.com/r/ender3/comments/cxxo4c/psathe_offic…
Anybody used easybay.com.au? Seems like scam or phishing site?
No address, contact number is a mobile
Just has a general spammy vibe to it
Where'd you find it?
google shopping search for darts

Just came across with this website at instagram seems to good to be true.. All the sizes are still there.. kinda iffy as they don’t accept PayPal payment.
What’s your thoughts..

Hmmm….
website at instagram
This should have been the giveaway.
Well firstly you'd think that a legitimate site would have a .nz domain.
The who.is shows that the site was registered by a "Zhang Kai" who lives in or near Xi'an, China.
Also their customer support is a Gmail address
See you in the megathread later :)
Never heard of them but they have some good prices
Just wondering if anyone here has used them before and can comment about shipping times, or any experiences good or bad.
Cheers.
Yes, I've used them. Got what I ordered and got it as quick as AusPost felt like delivering it :)
Yep I have bought a couple of games from them. Totally legit and great prices.
Their games are imported, so pay attention to the region code if you are planning to buy DLC.
They also have stores on ebay and amazon.

Hi Guys, this must site must be a scam.
https://www.dmoore.top/
Thoughts ?
Thanks
Do you really have to ask OP?
I'll hand back my membership !
They don't hand out .top domains to just anyone.
wow, thanks for posting this OP.
great prices, so I ordered the Apple Watch Series 7 GPS + Cellular for AU$143.01
and it just arrived!
christmas sorted.
Legit
Thanks op, just got 20 Mavic 2 pros, going to use them in unison to fly me to work.
Lemme guess, found it on Facebook or Instagram…
Plot Twist - it's the OP's own website lol
thanks for the virus OP
Ok ok ! I get it ! Please forgive me !
By asking this question I'm thinking the internet is not for you.
Stick to paperback books.
Goodbye.
Came across this in a Groupon newsletter email. Surprised to see Groupon listing something that looks a shady company (called themselves SUAU) selling illegal keys. no company info on the deal page, its own webpage or even via google. Thoughts anyone?
They're generally selling volume license keys against the TOS as a quick money making scheme. They may work, they may not, they may work for a while then stop working when blacklisted etc.
What's the license for?
Windows
Not legit. As mentioned previously these are MAK (multiple activation keys) likely obtained from a Visual Studio Enterprise subscription and redistributed against the TOS. They will work, and once Windows is activated, activation is pretty well permanent (afaik). However, if you are going to pirate why pay for the privilege?
I'm not in the market for any Microsoft licenses. Just shocked to see Groupon listing this as a deal. Surely they must have some basic screening protocol to protect their customers against such fraudulent businesses?
Hi fellow OzBargainers!
Missed out on this deal previously - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/731910
Found the same balance bike on lavadeals.com.au but have never heard of them before. Google search didn't give me much and nothing in the OzB posts/forums!
Has anyone dealt or bought anything from them before? Hoping someone has had success otherwise I'll have to keep looking around..
Cheers!
Google search didn't give me much
Well the Governing Laws are the laws of Lava Deals.
https://lavadeals.com.au/terms-and-conditions/
I haven't used them, trying to add something requires an account?
ok, should have checked, it is a scam website
Lots these sites around, all registered with Alibaba cloud.
Is almost impossible to report these sites to anyone.
Hi I was looking at buying a few hair care products from https://au.perfumesclub.com/
Would you trust this site?
I haven’t seen any posts on ozb about this seller.
Would you trust this site
No
Why no?
It's on cashrewards so I guess it's not a 'scam' site.
I assume it's all drop shipped stuff from oseas though.
Thanks. I’m in no rush with the products so I don’t mind waiting longer.
Is https://www.victoria-sporting.com/ legit? I have ordered a ping pong table as its free delivery
No .au domain, so no protection / ABN required.
The site was created 2022-11-22 (1 month) ago.
Their banner says "⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.7/5) OVER 50,00 HAPPY CUSTOMERS EVERY MONTH". Besides the error in the amount (assuming it's supposed to be 50,000), there's no way an unknown site is going to be able to sell, distribute and receive feedback within 1 month of being up.
The website's address is 433 Clunies Ross Court, Eight Mile Plains Queensland 4113, Australia. Small street, doesn't look like it can even be 4/33, so it's a false address.
Scam Adviser gives it a trust score of 1 out of 100.
VERDICT: I'd say scam, and they're hoping people associate it with Victoria's Secret Sporting. Good luck getting your money back, hopefully you used some buyer's protection!
Thank you. I have disputed the transaction with my card provider and its resolved.
Hello Community,
I'm in search of some Milwaukee power tools and came across a website that sells kits cheaper than Total Tools, Sydney Tools etc.
The website is https://thetradiespot.com/
Apologies for my question as I'm not one to buy from web stores but am looking for a bargain for my nephew.
How can I confirm that this company and website is legit?
Thanks in advance!
I would go with no.
Absolute no contact detail
Generic Shopify layout
No .Au domain
No abn listed
Etc
Yeah yeah totally looks legit
My browser probably infected now too smh
Thank you for looking into this for me, much appreciated.
One of their supposed 'client testimonies':
"Thank you for the great service as described, shipped on time to my location" - Jessica L, United State
Yeah nah
For a store that has apparently been servicing Australia for the past 15 years, you would think they'd have a physical presence somewhere…
Servicing Australia for the 15 years since 2022-09-06
Thank you for your insight, much appreciated.
Hi all,
I've been looking to purchase a Steam Deck, and saw a member posting about purchasing one from Expansys Australia, and how it arrived within a few days. I went with that and purchased a 64GB model last night….
You can probably see where this is going.
I received an email this morning stating that the item has been shipped and to follow the link to view the tracking information. Invalid.
I thought nothing of it but decided to do a quick Google search and my heart dropped. Countless upon countless people posting negative reviews stating that they've made orders, and there's been zero communication.
I immediately raised a dispute with PayPal, so hopefully, I'll get my money back, but…are some people just unlucky, or is it do they just ship products randomly?
Thanks in advance.
How long between marked as posted and checking link? Track Link probably or live yet.
Did you attempt to contact Expansys?
Also why would you drop $800+ on an overseas seller you’ve never heard of without researching?
It’s been a few hours. To be completely honest, I saw that another member here had purchased from them with no issues and went with that. Uncharacteristic of me to do so tbh.
Did you get the 1tb custom bundle like that whirlpool poster?
@Jimothy Wongingtons: Just the 64GB model.
@ZeroX03: idk if it makes you feel better plenty of times, even australia post and direct freight (australian interstate freight) sometimes doesnt have scan events for a few hours after lodged..
probably will get something hopefully once courier picks up so you get a scan event.
The Bluetti company does seem to have products and such but the company seems shady… It seems to be a Chinese company trying hard to make it appear they're a western company operating out of Aus/Europe/US and such..
