  • its 300lpm even faster !

    • This is actually the 300lpm model. Sorry I had edited the title wrong

  • Good deal, picked one up today, exact same unit as the Kings Thumper max and the XTM from supercheap just different colours and logos

    • +1

I thought that might be the case, I'll pick one up then cheers.

  • Out of Stock in WA - apparently a week or so wait for C&C according to someone who called me after I made my order.

Anyone comment if this attachement would work with this unit, aparently the gauge on this isnt accurate at all.

I don't think it has a pressure switch so using what you posted could be dangerous.

        How so?

No different than just putting the valve connector straight onto the tyre Valve?

If you don't check it, over inflation of tire could occur…

Regarding the inflator handle, have to check which connectors are on the compresy hose. If they're standard fittings or not.
My ARB compressor has different fittings than my garage compressor

The problem being is when the pump is connected directly to a tyre it takes a lot of air to increase pressure by say 1psi. If you connect that tool which has a valve in the end, when it’s disconnect from a tyre and the pump is still on there is a very small volume of air meaning pressure will increase rapidly…

You’d ideally want a tank to “absorb” the pump while you check the reading on the gauge.

          • @MarcusJones: Never had any issue with using my digital inflator, and I've done a bucket load of tyres for myself and mates to regularly 40/42 psi.
Happy to be corrected, and take it all on board, but I'm struggling to understand your reasoning on this one

@Spending2Much: So what happens when the compressor is on but you are not actively inflating?

(Not trying to be a smartass, genuine question).

Cause one of three things can happen…

              1. The compressor runs to its maximum pressure till the piston rings start leaking air which can cause excessive heat and/or the hose bursting/leaking.

              2. The compressor has a cut off switch that detects the pressure getting too high and turns off the compressor.

              3. The compressor has a bypass valve which opens to release pressure.

Just depending on the type/quality of the compressor it could be either option.

But generally speaking having a cut off device on the end of a compressor pump with no tank isn’t a great idea.

              Cheers

              • @MarcusJones: Thanks
My ARB compressor cuts off when not inflating. When I turn it on and before connecting to the tyre valve, it might run momentarily presuming to fill the length of hose with air.
Likewise, when I stop inflating, to check the tyre pressure, it cuts out.

What's the issue with having the cutoff switch?

                • @Spending2Much: Absolutely no issue at all.

The point was more around some of the cheaper compressors (eg maybe the one in this deal) DONT have that safety cutout feature and will just keep pumping regardless. I had a cheap eBay compressor years ago that would basically pump when given 12v non stop, when it got to about 140psi it would just get super hot and draw massive current till the wires started to smoke, potentially would have caught fire if I left it.

It’s hard to see from the picture whether this compressor has a cut off switch or not.

                  • @MarcusJones: That's understandable.
I thought the cut off switch was normal, obviously not on all compressor.

I'm hard fitting an ARB compressor into the engine bay, waiting on custom bracket, I'm tempted to get this $99 one as a throw in the back, lend out type of situ.

                    • @Spending2Much: It should be normal and on anything quality it is, but on the cheaper stuff they don’t add it to reduce cost hence being able to sell cheaper.

If mounting in the engine bay try to make up a heat shield if it’s anywhere near an exhaust header. Depending how good you are with the tools it might also be worth mounting a 12v over the pump head which is wired in to run when the compressor is on. It will probably be ok without, but you’ll want the engine running when inflating to protect your battery which means under bonnet temps can get to 80+ degrees when just idling.

The pumps can get pretty damn hot even in normal conditions, in a hot engine bay it can shorten their life.

Other good mounting point is inside the rear quarter panel although it can be a little noisier if you’re using it while driving (air lockers for example).

I use an engine mounted york210 for onboard air but am considering this as a backup just in case something happens to the York… has anyone got this specific model yet?

    • +1

Yes… They have a pack with them combined as a kit they sell. Ignore the above comments and check the pack that has it included for 169… Buying seperate is cheaper

      • +1

Thanks couldnt find the pack but baught seperatly.

        • Did yours fit? I bought the same things and I couldn't see a way of connecting them.
