  • I just read on xda that people are not happy with the camera of Flip3. Its supposedly very bad in low light and using the same hardware as previous gens Flip.

    I hope they are wrong, i really wanted to like this phone.

    I read this on whirlpool just today.
    The process is convoluted.
    You first apply for a voucher to redeem the gifts.
    Then once you get the voucher you can redeem gifts.

              It was titled "Your order is complete" and underneath it had "Proof of purchase details." which had the device info, purchase date, IMEI etc.

    I received my z fold 3 today. Amazing device.

    I was able to still qualify for the 50% off Samsung care+. So got it for $199. It was just applied automatically when I put my details in.

    I think it was maybe because I signed up to the Samsung unpacked event and it was offered as part of that.

  • I was hoping to salary sacrifice this under 'mobile device' to claim it against tax at work - anyone who has received theirs, so do you get an invoice that has the full amount of the Fold3 on it? And it's not like.. split up against the TV or whatever else?

    • No tv wouldn't be mentioned as it's a seperate redeemable

      But I spoke to a rep on chat and asked for one. The invoice supplied showed the device cost outright and plan cost. Also showed the device repayment cost per month

        Also, I was not able to choose between the Buds or powerpack option, anyone else managed to choose their preference or they just ship random??

          Yes they emailed the invoice immediately.

          I used the invoice and the proof of purchase that came with the phone to redeem the gift just in case.

          My understanding is that once you claim for redemption is approved, the TV is sent and you get a voucher to then claim the gift pack of your choice

            @PlowKing: Thanks Mate, much appreciated. I contacted chat but they would not send me the invoice, says it will email in the next months invoice, freaking hopeless. Telstra service is just so bad and inconsistent it is just not funny; anyone can waste hours with the idiots to try to get anything done; half of them don't have a clue what they are doing. I gave up after trying twice so will just submit it using the paper that came with the fone. Hope you get your bonus soon.

  • So I picked up my flip, loving it so far!

    However..I'm worried about the redemption, because the telstra store have given me 3 separate invoices… one with the medium casual plan (which shows no device details at all and no store details), one with the phone on 12 month device repayments with $1,000 paid (but no connection to the medium plan,
    no store details ), and a third invoice with a bunch of line items showing the IEMI of the phone, the store details and my address (but all $0.00 amounts). All of this was apparently because the new system wouldn't let them process a preorder paid outright in full.

    Worried that it won't comply with the redemption terms, as before redeeming it says evidence is needed that the device has been added to a medium or above plan, and then when redeeming that the tax invoice needs to show the device name and model, retail store details, price paid, date and time.

    The store staff assured me it would be fine but they don't process the redemptions so I'm not confident.

  • Has anyone received their Flip from telstra yet? I received an SMS with a tracking link this morning and an order delivered SMS at 11:15 but nothing has shown up yet. Checked tracking link which shows delivery has been signed under my name. I contacted Startrack who told me to contact Telstra. Rung Telstra but they are saying no phones have been shipped out yet as it is due to release tomorrow and it was just the sim card sent today?? Will hold off till tomorrow to escalate further and see if it arrives but not too hopeful.

    • Shouldn't matter. Your invoice will say that you purchased it on the 8th September. Just make sure to lodge your redemption before 15th October.

  • I haven't received flip 3 because of delivery (profanity) by Telstra. I was able to lodge claim for TV and is approved pending delivery. Case Manager called for delivery issue and said they can only cancel the order. Will I still get TV if I get refund for phone. Also any way to still get Telstra plus gold membership ?

    • How are you able to lodge a claim without the IMEI of the phone itself? If you haven't actually received the phone? That doesn't make sense.

      • Some how I got the email saying order is completed with IMEI number which I used to lodge a claim. Also, earlier I was promised that they will make sure I will receive all bonuses including gold membership and they will send email to Samsung to approve my bonuses if my order is returned. But the case manager refused that they can only cancel order and will need to place order again with bonuses wont be included as promo period has passed.

        Hopefully , the claim lodged with Samsung will be honored.

        • Sounds like it was a mistake on Telstra's end somewhere. I'd keep your pre-order and let Telstra fix it on their end while you hang onto your invoice that's needed for the pre-order bonuses.

          Telstra shouldn't expect you to have to cancel your order and risk losing your pre-order bonus just because of a mistake Telstra made within their own delivery system. And i wouldn't rely on a Telstra email to guarantee your pre-order bonus - the pre-order invoice is what legally entitles you to the pre-order bonus - not an email from Telstra.

          • @particle: I have already claimed Samsung bonus with Telstra invoice which is showing approved and pending shipping. Now Telstra has refunded the money for pre-order. Hopefully, Samsung TV will still come through.

            Only thing I will miss is Telstra plus Gold membership and 50000 points from mobile service.

            I had placed 2 orders of galaxy s21 and 2 items from telstra plus store and I have received nothing. All delivered back to Telstra.

        • lodge a quick telstra complaint and they will sort it out pretty fast.

          Going back and forth with telstra chat is a waste of time.

        bit disappointed by battery life… it barely lasts half day. Will NOT recommend unless you are getting a bonus TV

          I am getting 5-6 SOT with about 30-40% left and bixby routines has made it easy to save battery too (like turn off mobile data when wifi is connected, turn on battery saver when folded).

          • @googoogaga: @googoogaga ooh I might look that up, so do you set the bixby routines in the app? Or do you have to voice activate it?

            • @ranma: Bixby routines is the app and you set commands on it. Everything is automatic once you set it up.

    Has anybody got updates?
    I ordered 14/8 and received phone 03/9.
    I entered details on the Samsung redemption site on 03/9 and status has been "pending shipping" since 08/9.
    I have also not got Telstra Gold yet.

  • Telstra Plus Gold upgrade still not occurred for my order and I have been chasing it up with little success.

    I emailed Samsung for tracking number on the TV and they have advised:

    "Your gift is going through the dispatch and delivery process – this process may take 60 days from the date your claim was approved.

    When your gift is going through the dispatch and delivery process, it will show as shipped in your account.

    When your gift is ready for delivery, you will receive an email with the tracking details and your E-Voucher code."

      I only got upgraded to Gold when I sent a message to their complaints team, upgrade happened the next day (not 100% sure if that was the main reason):

      Still haven't received TV/e-voucher either, submitted on Sept 3rd. Someone on Whirlpool received their tracking code, e-voucher and the TV itself today (everything came on the same day)… so hopefully signs of Samsung finally getting things through.
