So you'll get 10% of card value in Everyday Rewards points e.g. buy $30 card get $3 worth of points

  • Tempted to get these for my usual Google Play cards from JB Hi-Fi, but apparently you can't use these to buy credit for Google Play, iTunes, etc. any more?

    • +1

you can, these cards are for instore use only, and when you use them they are just like a eftpos card.

      • +1

Yeah but someone mentioned here within the last month that JB Hi-Fi don't let you do that any more (I always said I was paying with Savings to deter them from looking closer).

Might just buy a $30 instead of my usual $50 and see whether it will work if we ever get out of lockdown

Edit: If you negged me because you think this is bs (and not because you hate me, and I know who you are), here's where I read it

        • Job don’t let u buy job hifi cards with these. U can buy everything else

    • These look like EFTPOS cards, nothing on the site T&Cs says they can't be used to buy other gift cards?

      • A recent comment said they no longer allow it

        • +1

Don't mention you'll pay with a gift card, just say you'll pay by card and swipe the machine as you would with any eftpos card and try to cover the back of the card with your hand well when you do it.

          • @F1ProjectOne: Yeah as I've mentioned previously, I always say I'm paying with savings to throw them off the scent

I think it's another case of JB Hi-Fi trying to enforce terms and conditions created out of thin air.

Last time I checked the Ultimate gift card or TCN gift card terms and conditions, there is no specific clause stating you cannot use these cards to purchase JB Hi-Fi gift cards or third-party gift cards at JB Hi-Fi.

When a staff member tells you that you cannot purchase any gift cards at JB Hi-Fi with a Ultimate or TCN gift card, that may be unenforceable, because that condition is not published anywhere public before you purchase the Ultimate or TCN gift card.

I know that a notice was issued from JB Hi-Fi head office to all stores a couple of days after the 15% off TCN gift card sale at Coles, telling staff members to not allow the purchase of any gift cards with Ultimate or TCN gift cards, but the problem is that the vast majority of people are not JB Hi-Fi staff members…

        That's my two cents, anyway.

  • No i-tunes card again this week :(

Most likely won't be seeing iTunes Discount anymore, as Apple are discontinuing iTunes GC and transitioning to Apple Gift Cards.

Related forum posts - here & here

      • Thank you so much!! :)) Didn't notice that

      • Sucks that you won't be able to get 15% off anymore but at least you get a sweet Apple sticker with every GC.

        • Yes, I guess the maximum discount will be 10%, as people can use this card to purchase apple products.

        • +1

Apple stickers on cars are cringeworthy

          • @nikoris: Don't be so quick to judge. It's actually an environmental good, because instead of being powered by fossill fuels, Apple stickered cars are powered by smug.

  • Doesn't seem to be a cap / limit?
Can I get $1000 of cards for $100 back to Woolworths account?

    • Doesn't appear to be a limit this time, as Variable Load Gift Cards are also available.

    • It should show how many points u r getting on the screen as u r about to pay

  • Can you pay for the fuel at Ampol with that everyday rewards cards like you can do with flybuys at shells'?

    • Only at EG Australia fuel sites in mainland Australia that accept Everyday Rewards.

No EG Australia fuel sites in Tasmania allow you to earn Everyday Rewards points or redeem Everyday Rewards dollars.

    • Only select ampol sites give a discount, most just give points

  • What's variable gift cards? Includes visa or EFTPOS variable?

    • Variable Load Ultimate Gift Cards.

      • So let's say I load $247 on this, can that be redeemed for a $247 JB hifi gift card? or do they go in certain increments do you know

  • +3

Be aware that Ultimate Gift Cards can only be used when the physical card is present to process the transaction.

  • FYI the amounts that can be loaded onto the Variable Load gift cards is between $20 and $500 inclusive (but the only Ultimate variable load gift card I have seen is the Teens gift card).

  • Bunnings not included?

    • +1

      Bunnings not included.

If you want discounted Bunnings gift card, you're better off either:

      • Purchasing Bunnings gift cards at Coles using discounted Coles or Coles Group & Myer gift cards, or

      • Purchasing Bunnings gift cards through Shopback or Redeem Your Gift Card.

      • How do you purchase a GC with a GC at Coles?

        • Use self checkout and make sure the Coles GC covers the cost of the other GC you want to purchase. Some stores tell staff not to allow this so do not make it obvious. The POS system allows the transaction.

          • @Yola: Last time there was a flybuys bonus point offer I tried to get some Ultimate Teen or whatever at the self checkout, but it wouldn't allow it. I will have to try again next time.

            • @coxymla: I have done it many times but maybe the POS is different at that store.

Confirming no caps, $2200 purchased for $220 shopping credit applied.
Had to put through in 3 transactions as $1000 was the limit each. The line of people behind me were stoked with their choice of checkout lane.

    • Did you get the variable gift card?

      • 22 x $100 good sir

    • I guess this is for the new iPhone?

      • +1

        Kamado Joe and PS5

  • Can these be swap for online e gift card like the TCN him/her/home cards?

Quite a big deal if u wanna use immediately in the current lockdown environment

  • also works on ultimate studenets…handy for eb games zing etc
