Sooooo annoying I can't trust a chinese influenced business with my sensitive data (hardware backdoor). It's my perfect laptop, cheep and cheerful.

    • +3

True, but you can't trust any laptop with an Intel or AMD cpu since they have known backdoors.

I guess it's the nazi to terrorist takedown thing vs authorised concentration camp slave labour to organ harvesting I can't get over.

Not saying i support lenovo, just pointing out how profanitied current computers are when it comes to security.

Just funny that at the same time Chinese people don't trust Lenovo either because they think it is controlled by American government.

    • Oh,

Do you trust our news media who constantly publish political and coorporately biased articles?

Sad state the world is. I admire your passion to protect people of the world. Sadly the protection starts from us at home to our elected leaders and coorporations whom do their best to make sure every alternative is your enemy.

But this isnt the area for this type of scrutiny of society. I just hope and pray. When people have an oppurtunity to do the right thing. They take it.

$700.20 if you buy Swap gift-cards from Sunsuper.

  • What does amazing battery life mean?

    • 38wh, so basically the standard

      • Any idea how long that will last? It's mainly for emails, YouTube and browsing.

        • Reviews for the 5300u model suggest 9 hours web browsing and 8 hours video playback, so i would expect slightly lower results on this model. That was with the screen at 120 nits so if youre in a bright room expect below 6 hours on this model (aka max brightness).

Unfortunately the AU version is only 38wh and the US version is 45wh. You can get the US version with better specifications via Amazon AU for a similar price point.

  • Noob question. What is the main reason the model in the link below cost $200+ more than OP’s model?

  • Am I right in assuming this will run Office smoothly and quickly? My current old i3 laptop is painfully slow
