  • PAYPAL is coming!

    • It's already here. Afterpay shares took a big hit cos of it 😅

      • It’s a pity to see the occasional rare Aussie innovation being eaten by an American giant.

    • get them a rag!!

    • Was expecting did you really buy 4% or not lol.

    • Pay Pal will do credit checks… miss a payment black mark against your name. Beware

Good find: This brings the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer to $411, which is closer to this $388 deal using Little Birdie which recently expired. Stack 4% Cashback using GoCashBack and it's right under $392.

  • They dont do credit checks?

    • Statement or question?

      • Question

        • They do - well at least they reserve the right to

Will they nuke this one 1/10 of the way through as well?

Negging due to their dodgy behaviour with the PCCG deal.

    • -3

Nothing dodgy at all, they chose to end it early.

My two orders totaling $1579 Saved me almost $400, i think you're just mad you missed out of a deal.

      • +4

Choosing to end a deal 12 days premature without prior notice isn't exactly the best way to attract new clientele.

        • -7

          Nor is it dodgy.

          • @Axelstrife: Cool, so it wouldn't be dodgy if they just decided to charge you the ~$400 without telling you before you bought the stuff that they'd withdrawn the offer?

        • You are right

They advertised a promotion then pulled it without notice. That's the definition of a bait and switch and it's certainly dodgy.

And I didn't miss out - I had no interest in the deal anyway.

They advertised a promotion then pulled it without notice. That's the definition of a bait and switch

          bait-and-switch
          noun
the action (generally illegal) of advertising goods which are an apparent bargain, with the intention of substituting inferior or more expensive goods.

          Straight from google.

No one had there order switched nor did they anyone not receive the fourth payment waved, yes pulling it early sucks but absolutely nothing about it is dodgy eBay has pulled promotions early it's nothing new.

        • You are absolutely right

        • It’s in the terms and conditions that they can end the promotion at any time.

Beware. On the pccg deal they did a credit check against my name (I was at excellent rating of 804) and for some odd reason they wouldn't go through with the purchase. I've called them and was informed to try again in 24 hours.
The next day, the promo had been cancelled early by 2 weeks in an extremely dodgy way and the credit check is now staining my perfect score for no reason.

I've contacted their support multiple times and even called in, but to no avail.

Steer clear if you value your credit score.

Credit scores mean nothing in Australia. It's about serviceability and your credit record.

Klarna aren't shady by running a credit check on you - they say they'll run one.

Finishing the promo early, while not a good way to win customers is entirely within their right to do so. The only unethical thing I can see was opaqueness about when the deal ended

  • I have seen the Klarna Apple app has so many negative reviews due to there bad app and service.
