    i haven't used these, so i don't know. but gee i seriously doubt it. i reckon my lodge is up there with the best things i've ever bought. bought a different brand to expand the artillery and it's just not as good.

        I have read some reviews saying it rusts differently and the way it gets seasoned differently.

        apparently some are rougher too. I wouldnt say my lodge is really smooth but the aldi one i felt in store was pretty rough

        It's a little thinner, which means it heats up too quickly and doesn't retain its heat as well.

        as mentioned below, it's a little rougher and the seasoning just doesn't stay on it as easily as the lodge, which i have barely ever had to re-season in the few years i've had it.

        i thought they were all the same too, which is why i tried this different brand. turns out it's not quite true.

        again, i must stress, i have not used the pans in this post - they might be amazing!

  that's amazingly cheap for the 30cm considering a Lodge Blacklock costs about $150.

    I wouldn't be surprised if there's good reason this appears amazingly cheap.

    Lodge 30cm L10SK3 is currently $72. Given these are the kind of product that will last to hand down to your grandkids, it's not big money to be spending on a quality product. The Lodge often comes down to $60 and has been as low as $31.60.

  Just to confirm, these are NOT pre seasoned in any way? (As opposed to having a thin layer with recommendation to add to it)

    If there was no seasoning at all then they'd turn up covered in rust. Given these are made in China I'd say it's not a bad idea to remove the factory seasoning and add your own.

    Probably best just to wait for another Lodge deal, at least you know what you're buying.
