    Would this allow unblocking of 'adult' sites on a corporate office WiFi network? Asking for a co-worker.

      Viva Italia!

    • Can do, but firewalls like SOPHOS can be configured to block VPN traffic

  • As with any VPN service, make sure to read their privacy policy. Only sign up if you're happy with what they've written:

      Can you summarise if you find anything that is concerning?

      • Yeah, would be curious too. Thanks

        If you have any questions or suggestions about my Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].

        This is my concern. They are operating a VPN Service but can't even use their own domain for their email address.

      • "I may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

        To facilitate our Service;
        To provide the Service on our behalf;
        To perform Service-related services; or
        To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
        I want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to your Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose."

        Essentially, simplevpn may or may not be using other companies in order to provide the VPN service… you don't know who… and they're only "obligated" to not use your data.

        Paid VPNs (Nord, PIA, etc) will always list who their third-party providers are and what they're used for.

      • well the fact they're offering you a free service which costs 10's or thousands to run should be enough of a worry.

        why the hell would you allow a group of stranger's to monitor everything tou so on the internet when connected via them is beyond me. But hey I don't understand why people expose themselves publicly either.

  • Always remember, the free stuff might cost you more in long run, I wouldn't want free VPN service if privacy is paramount.

    "I don't trust my carrier that I pay money to for a service and is a large company with some level of oversight….but random single person on the android app store with a free service…sure! I'm in!"

    There is really very little reason 99% of us should need this. IF I was travelling through a random airport in china and using free wifi, then yeah I may go with this VPN.

    • Perhaps your "trusted carrier" won't allow you to visits some sites… what then?

      • Well said. And energy companies in QLD plan to monitor internet traffic to ensure users aren't going against the company's ethical standards ( I assume they also supply internet).

        I don't trust my service provider.
