This says CN on it. Is it in English as well. Been interested in these to speed up my home network.

    • +4

Yes! This router is a multi-language version; you can choose a different language when you access it. CN indicates that the power adapter included is of Chinese configuration:-D

I have been using the ax6000 for the past month that replaced google wifi, great network through the house but have to use google or edge translate to use the routers page, the phone app works in english but it wouldnt find the router until I set the location for china for some reason. I belioeve the ax3600 has a english language option

  • where and how to enter the code? price shown $113 without any code, is it in USD or AUD, struggling to navigate, am i asking for trouble here

    • Please fill out the coupon FASTTECH on the checkout page. PayPal will automatically convert the US dollars to Australian dollars, which is about 136 Australian dollars after discount.

  • Would this be comparable to tenda nova 3 mesh in terms of coverage?

    • +2

AX3600's coverage is 120-200 ㎡, while NOVA MW3's 3-piece network can cover 300 square meters, and the two-piece package can cover 200 square meters. By comparison, the mesh has higher coverage, Check out for more information.

  • can you get any of these new routers with voip built in?

    • I found some that might meet your requirements, please check here.

    • I haven't seen any with Wi-Fi 6. Purchase an IP handset or Grandstream HT812 ATA.

  • +3

Apparently the Chinese version Wi-Fi transmission is full power and the Global version is weaker because of EU regulations.

  • Is it NBN ready?

    • +2

This is router, u need a modem to connect to NBN.

      • Or NBN connection box.

      • +1

Not all NBN connections need a modem tho.

So many candles on the cake.

    Initial Openwrt support available

Although it runs a modified version of Openwrt, it is listed by OpenWrt as "Not supported." https://openwrt.org/inbox/toh/xiaomi/xiaomi_ax3600

It has been out for well over a year and still not supported, which implies there is significant portion of customisation that cannot be replicated easily.

There is only a small handful of AX routers by OpenWRT. https://openwrt.org/toh/start
I saw someone recommend Belkin RT3200 which is one of the rare AX routers supported: https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/belkin/belkin_rt3200

    Initial Openwrt support available

Sure, if you want to clone the out of tree repos and build your own firmware, and deal with things like random segfaults and memory leaks in the WLAN driver.

I don't think anyone is daring enough to be distributing images at this time either.

No, firmware images off chinese forums built off Qualcomm's SDK do not count.

If you buy this device expecting OpenWrt support, expect to be waiting a while for it to be in a somewhat usable state for the day-to-day.

Edit: Price isn't particularly great compared to current Aliexpress vendor prices. Decent enough if it's locally shipped though.

FYI, this is the only Xiaomi AIoT router with OpenWRT support: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10069563/9729114-authent…

AU$86.51 with free shipping. It's an AC2350, which is a bit older AC standard than AX.

    Pretty solid router! Good find:)

    Doesn’t have AIoT of ports…. Only 3x???!!

Heads up, Paypal price at checkout (including the discount) is $143.99, not $136.94

    • Paypal charges a bit for conversion I guess

  • It is true that PayPal exchange rates include conversion fees, which results in differences

I am using an ax6000 and ax3600 in a mesh network. It's been an absolute gem. It is easy to swap between CN - EN firmware for AX3600 if required. Also the CN version has a stronger signal strength.

The only thing I am unhappy about is no USB support on either. I had an HDD connected to my previous router which is not an option on this one.

  • Can this router do vLan ID 2 authentication?
Is this the global version or Chinese version?
    Thanks.

  • I bought one during the deal, status was last updated on 15 Jul “ Cleared and awaiting international departure” and nothing happened since.
    Has anyone received their order?

    • May I have your order number? It would be my pleasure to check up on the progress of the logistics for you

      • Thanks Rep, order number sent via PM.

    • I am getting the same message when I track it. Not sure what the holdup is

      • Bumping up this thread, it's been a month since some of us placed order, wondering if anyone was lucky enough to receive the item? I don't think we should be waiting for ever, what are our options?

        • +1

I had an update on Auspost while tracking it. Unusually long but at least something is happening

          • @Prodev3r: Lucky you, no changes when i track. Last update was on 15 Jul and it seems to be stuck

            • @ablqadir: In transit to next facility in MACQUARIE PARK NSW
              Thu 12 Aug, 3.33pm

That's my suburb. Should get it Monday once it reaches that facility. I think Covid is delaying the packages again, this is the most I have had to wait for something from Fasttech to arrive.

              • @Prodev3r: Finally mine also made some good progress and now it shows " in transit to next facility in VIC" after being processed in Sydney.

Agree COVID has caused huge delays, fingers crossed it's still has long way to go :-)

                • @ablqadir: I received mine after lunch. Cant figure out how to change the language to english

                  • @Prodev3r: Finally received mine today, I used mi app and was able to setup quickly.

                    • @ablqadir: Were you able to change the language to English on the router page if logged in from a browser?

                      • @Prodev3r: I just went to the page to see how things look like, translate option is disabled on Chrome on my iPad. Guess it's a local page? Probably that's why.

Mi wifi app was fairly simple to use. My mi account is very old using their home security setup since 2017 and I am on mainland Chinese server. Setup took me only few minutes. I only changed wifi SSIDs/passwords to my decommissioned router's default so transition was smooth and transparent for my devices. Other than that updated firmware twice which was also very straight forward.

                        • @ablqadir: I initially set it up using my phone's camera to translate. The app is so much easier.

Impressed by the wifi performance, does better than my $300 Asus. Hate that it doesn't have WPS

  • Anyone else still waiting for their order as well?

    • /(ㄒoㄒ)/ Please send me your order number via message, and I'll look into the logistics for you if it's convenient.
