Will this bike carrier put too much pressure on the glass beyond what it can withstand?

    • Given the price of auto glass, I wouldn't want to risk it.

I had one of these years ago and it damaged my duco…

I'd never recommend one to anybody unless you have a very old car and don't care about marks, dents, scratches etc…

Covers number plate expect a fine!

In most states, you'll need buy a special plate to display so that it's visible.
Hand made plates are not acceptable.

      • Yep, they're about $100 here in NSW. I bought one last year.

Mounting bikes really requires a proper solution, I agree with the above comments. Spend more money and get it right the first time.

          $35.60 in VIC
Dan probably cut a good deal with China

          • @jv: In VIC, You can reuse your current rear plate to attach it on your bike carrier.

If i will use my bike carrier on my sedan i will just unscrew the rear car plate and using a velcro reusable ties, tI will ie it on my bike for it to be visible while the car is moving.

              Does not apply to OzBargainers…

          • @jv: Were 27ish, when did it go up-to 35? Covid tax?

          • +1

@jv: I just checked and it was $45 in NSW not $100, my bad.

@Click_It: Maybe you bought front & back ?

  • Please be careful if you have a rear spoiler - these may not be suitable.

Another fake "sale" price. All super generic and typically $50-$60.

    • +3

Yeah this kind of generic spam is getting more and more common here. They should just auto delete any deal that includes these symbols in the description ✅【 】

  • Good design as there is no way that bike carrier will damage your car, no way.

  • $75 for me .. and if I can't drive at highway speeds then it isn't a whole lot of use.

  • I have one of these got from eBay around $45 if memory serves me right. It is usable, just make sure to cover sharp parts such as pedals that could damage car paint.

  • If you don't want to install a towbar or roof racks, this is an alternative. I used one on my hatchback and it eventually bent the edge of the metal panel on the top of the hatch! But that was after doing many trips and I didn't care about the car
