  • Anyone prefer foam or liquid?

I was thinking of starting to use this with a derma pen. Unfortunately even Finasteride says it's not the most effective for frontal hairline.

    • +1

I usually go the liquid because it seems easier to get the right amount and there's anecdotal evidence it might be absorbed better, but it's a pain as it makes your hair greasy.

I just found a youtube video where the guy suggested using foam in the morning as it's easier to style your hair after and less greasy, then use liquid at night… and now I feel like an idiot that I didn't think of that earlier!

      • I read many just use once a day, but I was thinking something like this!

      • Hi Kudoz,

This is a really good idea, never really thought of that but that's actually so smart. AHAHA

    • What's the derma pen you speak of?

      • Derma Rollin', but Dr Pen is automatically and more effective esp combined with Minoxidil.

      • +2

Hi iwantthebestprice, a derma pen is a microneedling device that is used to promote hair growth. When used in conjunction with minoxodil, certain anecdotal evidence shows beneficial results πŸ˜€.

If you have a sensitive scalp, foam is better. Wife can't tolerate the liquid - made her scalp too itchy.

  • @OP - the cashback conditions state - 2. Offer not valid in conjunction with any other offer, discount or promotional coupon.

Can you confirm 100% that your sale will be eligible..? Because your website indicates you've got it on sale due to the $139.95 price having a cross through it…

Make sure you use the invoice that we provide with delivery and there shouldn't be any issues. Feel free to get in touch if you have any probs with the cashback and we will help you sort it out=)

For those interested in starting medicinal treatment of androgenic alopecia, here's what I recommend:

    1) use liquid not foam monoxidil, for more effective topical application

    2) use bd (twice daily) if you can, but once daily is still adequate if that suits your showering and hairstyling habits better

    3) get Kirkland branded monoxidil for much better cost effectiveness, which is imported by resellers so eBay is the commonest source (if you insist on Regaine, you'll need to wait until the infrequent 50% off CW sales, and that can be difficult to time as you shouldn't pause treatment once you commence, and still a fair bit more expensive)

    4) start considering combining topical monoxidil with oral finasteride 1mg daily as the systemic treatment has far greater effectiveness. Your options are either finding a GP to prescribe off-label so that you get 5mg tabs to split (cost-effective) or getting referred to a dermatologist to prescribe 1mg tabs (expensive, but still a lot better than the exorbitant hair clinics that will hit you with high prices and numerous other adjuvant therapies that lack clinical evidence)

    5) curb your expectations - a) it will more often slow ongoing hair loss, vertex moreso than temporal, rather than regrow, and so you should still accept the natural ageing process and style accordingly, and b) keep an eye out for side-effects and don't go down the alarmist rabbit-hole; they are uncommon, and they are non-permanent (with ongoing use) and reversible (with cessation), so just be aware and make your own decision if they occur

Personally, I'm very content with my appearance using these medicines. I've had very slow temporal recession for many years, and it is pretty significant now. My frontal and vertex regions are probably a little thinned but still full. I have a styling which softens the temporal recessive effects. Comments, or sought opinions, usually fall into one of two categories: some say it looks good and smart how my styling lends itself to a fuller appearance (usually guys who understand and more easily notice hair loss), and some who weren't even aware I had a receding hairline (usually girls who don't have a more trained eye for it).

I estimate my cost for finasteride and monoxidil as approximately $120/yr.

At the end of the day, it's a personal choice. It's okay to invest a little in your appearance and confidence if that is where you put value. It's also okay to skip the time and expense and go down the acceptance of ageing route.

    • Hi Miracle,

This is a really good summary of treatment in general, especially about lowering expectations and using minoxidil in conjunction with finasteride for better results.

Also really agree, that how much you spend can be up to you and that at the end of the day everything is a personal choice, some guys look better bald as well.

    • Hi Miracle, thanks for the great cost-saving ideas. Just wondering if you have recommended eBay sellers for Kirkland monoxidi topical solution. 6-month package on eBay ranges from $59 to $80. Not sure if the more expensive ones would be more genuine than the cheaper ones. thanks.

      • +1

Kirkland is Kirkland. $10-15/bottle is the sweet spot

  • Can you please confirm the expiry date of the batch you have in stock? Thanks πŸ‘

      Hi milesandbos,
      Batch : 0090111
      Exp: 08/2023
These are for the few i checked that would be the earliest dated 😊

      • +1

        Thank you!

        • No problem!

  • Has this ever made anyone's hairline worse? Any regrowth? I've read it can regrow and I'm happy to buy myself 3-5 years til I can look at HT.

I had sides from Finasteride, they did taper down the longer I stayed on it.

    • Hi Adelv, minoxodil typically is handled quite well by most men, the main criticisms of men as a whole about minoxidil is that it doesn't stop hairloss.
However theres 2 problems, firstly its not really reccommended to stop a receding hairline its more to reduce hair thinning.
Secondly in these anecdotal situations whilst using minoxidil they may still lose hair, they would have lost it at a much slower rate as to leaving the alopecia to happen naturally.

  • My hair doctor got me taking oral fin/min compound into a capsule. It's cheaper, less mess, less hassle, gets straight into ya and gives me the same results.

    • +1

I've read a Dermatologist will only go that route, if tropical isn't working.

      Any extra possible side effects?

Compound is always super expensive too!

      • Hi again Adelv,

As with any medication oral consumption will come with more potential side effects. Hence why you're correct in that people typically only use oral when topical isnt as effective. But side effects vary from person to person based on genetic factors, dosage levels, dosage timings etc. At the end of the day everything is a personal choice πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

      Hi Pressieguy,

Great to hear that you've found a treatment that works for you! 😊

Just bought it from Chester & Jake's Pharmacy but just found a better deal for $109.99 that also does free shipping and applicable for cashback:
    https://www.pharmacydirect.com.au/regaine-men-s-extra-streng…

    • Doesn't the cashback apply to only if paying full price?

      • yes but Chester & Jake's Pharmacy is selling it discounted but still gets a cashback. so i guess you dont need it to be full priced?

        • Hi Dvz,
The company specifies that it can't be at a discount price, however our invoices are applicable for the cashback. 😊

      • Hi Adelv, our invoices are adjusted so that the cashback will still apply, even though you are buying it at the special price. πŸ™‚

Is there an actual difference between the men's and women's product?

    • +2

The active ingredient for the Women's Extra Strength Foam (Minoxidil) is the same (5%). It looks like they just prettied up the Women's packaging to market towards women =)

  • @Jnyb

Hi I bought this and received the item however the invoice is at discounted price which I assume would not be eligible for the cashback.

Can I get a revised invoice at full price as you stated above?

    • Sorry I didn't notice this message earlier.
The invoice provided with delivery should be eligible for cashback since it doesn't show a discounted price (e.g. was $149.99, discounted to $117.99). The company has advised there shouldn't be any issues but feel free to get in touch if you run into any problems.
      Thanks for your support!
