Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes
Born in a research lab, raised by a suburban couple, and banished to an animal rescue ranch after he attacks a neighbor, a super-intelligent alpha male chimp leads fellow apes in a rebellion against abusive handlers and cops, then makes an attempt at world domination by unleashing the lab's deadly virus strain — which doesn't affect primates — on the human population.

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as Both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

War For The Planet Of The Apes
In this thrilling, climactic chapter of the Planet of the Apes saga, Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel (Woody Harrelson). But after suffering unimaginable losses, Caesar resolves to avenge his kind, pitting him against the Colonel for a final showdown that will determine the future of the planet!

    Is the bluray set 4K?

  • +12

X-Men: Days of Future Past will forever be my favourite.

  • +3

    wish they were 4k,
bought the xmen from last deal, by that time i don't have a 4k player and a ok tv setup. from now on i will only buy 4k

    • +2

Unless the source materials are 4K, you won't really get the real benefit. That's the thing with UHD blu-ray discs. Majority of them aren't true 4K (more upscaled 4K).

      • A lot that aren't 4k are still 2k though, so still better than 1080p.

Streaming is still a mixed bag in terms of audio and video quality:

Disney plus (that these x-men movies are on, by the way) can stream at better-than-1080p-blu-ray quality, but not from the web browser, only from apps on smart TVs or set top boxes.

But netflix 4k is still only about on par with 1080p blu-ray quality. Prime video seems to be too, from what I can tell.

So there are still some cases you'd want to buy a 4k blu-ray if you have the player and TV (or projector) to appreciate the difference.

Love Planet of the Apes. I picked it up on VHS years ago in Beechworth, Vic

  • Is it just me or is X-Men box set showing as $12.95 but then changes to $14.99 in cart or am I missing something?

Edit: Actually looks to be showing as $14.99 on the site in general now so guess it's gone up but still seems a good deal.

    • Price has just gone up I think. I am seeing $14.99 now as well.

Nearly pull the triger… but all cost over $20 gave up.

X-Men price is now $14.99 from $12.95 (Expired)
Plant of the Apes is still $12.99 but temporarily out of stock. You can backorder if you want, you'll only get charged when it ships and can cancel until it does.

    I'll mark post expired.

  • I purchased an X-Men bluray set from Dick Smith Powerhouse before they closed down (1-3, first class and…… origins wolverine lol) I thought that was a bargain at $25. I've purchased the X-Men movies a fair few times (1-3 individually dvd, 1-3 dvd set, dofp dvd/bluray/4k and purchased the first 3 on 4k earlier this year….. also Logan on dvd/br/4k).

I've noticed some reallllly good deals get posted during working hours grumble grumble lol

    • I also got the X-Men Quadrilogy 4 film set from Dick Smith for $20 and thought that was fairly good price back in March 2013. Yet there' is always a catch when buying box sets. Knowing when to buy a box set. As that usually equates to cheaper per film pricing than having to purchase each film separately. Especially if they are still releasing films in the franchise and another box set with the next film added.

Recently picked up X-Men: First Class/X-Men: Days of Future Past double pack for $3. Fist Class is my least favourite and Days of future past is my favourite of the X-Men films.

  • Planet of Apes back in stock and even cheaper!

Limited-time deal: PLANET OF THE APES TRILOGY (3 DISC) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0771RXZ53/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_g…

$11.50 and 5 left in stock.

    • Don't purchase, that's the DVD not Blu-ray. You can cancel in your Amazon account if you are quick
