    mmmm breakfast tomorrow.

    • it will disintegrate before reaching the mouth 🤣

  • +1

    Anyone try freezing these ones?

    • Would love to know as well

    • +2

Yes, I have frozen them before no problem

      • +3

Yes, it is unfreezing them that causes the problems.

    • +3

They would probably taste even drier and more collapsed

      • Even better. That's how I like it

      • Can you slightly dampen the croissants with a few drops of water and then micro to make them more edible like you can with old bread?

Or is it just rather the composition of these make them dry even when 'fresh'?

        • +7

They are not dry at all. The best way to enjoy them is 5 minutes in warm oven 160°. Microwave make them rubbery

          • +1

@Laziofogna: In the past I've taken them frozen out of the freezer, microwave for 15 seconds or so, then 1-2 minutes in a pre-heated air fryer - warm on the inside, crispy on the outside.

As a side note, frozen garlic bread - 30 to 60 seconds in the microwave ( depending on bread type/size ) then 2-3 minutes in air fryer - the inside will be warm and melted and the outside crunchy and crispy..

            • @digitalaxon:

frozen garlic bread - 30 to 60 seconds in the microwave ( depending on bread type/size ) then 2-3 minutes in air fryer

Bookmarked to try this next time re: garlic bread!

      • The trick is to squash them into a tiny ball before freezing.

  • +18

    they're very bad

    • +1

Taste wise or quality wise? You work at woolies?

      • +8

        Yes, and both. BEWARE

        • +1

these are horribly dry crumbly ones aren't they?

        • Agree

    • +7

Are you eating them raw as-is? They're much better in an airfryer for 3-4 mins to crisp up then add cheese or jam. At least the Coles ones are, haven't tried WW.

      • -8

It goes beyond that. Trust me

        • Care to elaborate?

        • +4

They are great, you just want people to stay away since there are always just a few bags available

      • +3

Coles finest in the black boxes are the best I've had from a supermarket.

        • These aren't those

        • Better than costco?

    • -1

they're really good. love it when there's an odd number in the box and there's a few extras for yourself and for the team to share.

      • My French wife disagrees. They're not very good croissants

    • +1

I think that should be obvious to anyone with partially discerning taste but this is Ozbargain where junk food deals get a million votes so I suspect ppl don't care.

  • +3

How do these compare to Lune croissants?

    • +1

Both are croissants… I tried Line before, $7 or $8 , the taste and texture not comparable to the price. Not much unique in term of the taste. Just another branding high end product

    • +2

Should try the croissants at Cockatoo Bakery, one of the best in Sydney

      • Wild Cockatoo Bakery in Waterloo? Always searching for the ultimate croissants

      • Lies, Buttercrumbs in Five Dock has the best in Sydney

        • that's a big call, I will have to try it myself. Will definitely check it out

        • I looked them up, the cubes and the tiramisu looks sooo good. Have you get their coffee? If their coffee is good, I’d considered making the long arse train trip for coffee and croissants.

          • @UndeclaredFreak: Yep their coffee is amazing too! I know it’s a big call but please check the reviews on google - they are amazing and people travel from all over Sydney for them

      • +1

Sydney is a red zone. Not worth 14 days quarantine when returning to Melbourne.

        • The ones at south Melbourne markets are fantastic

        • I would buy 14 days worth of croissants and go into quarantine if it is good

  • +1

They don't seem as fresh as the ones in the smaller 3/4 packs, but I haven't bought this large pack before.

    • Smaller packs are defrosted on the shelf

  • +7

Yeah these are awful. Bought a pack the other week - had one and ditched the rest

  • +4

Coles 'finest' branded mini croissants are pretty good, actually crispy and flaky.

  • +4

Large is an exaggeration. Moreover these are proper bad. Packed into a bag. Not even worth the $4.50.

  • These are rank

    Avoid

  • +2

These are so bad lol. If you’re going to get a croissant get a fresh one from a good bakery, period lol,

  • +1

Looks like people are upvoting the deal blindly?

Comments and votes are not correlating…

    • +11

No. because people here don't expect them to taste like $6-7 croissants or the better quality more expensive Coles "Finest" croissants. They are cheap for a reason just like the Coles "normal" croissant 12packs.

    • They are trolls.

  • It’s pretty bad I agree too..

  • +1

    Voted #321 Bogan food….

  • ZAP in the microwave.
    Nom nom

    • +1

So eat the microwave is what you're saying?

  • +1

I fry a couple of streaky bacon, and split the croissants lengthwise.

Croissants go under the broiler/grill for a min or so (keep an eye) as I quick fry the eggs in the bacon grease.

Pull croissants out, lay on plate, cover w/eggs, shredded cheese, & lay slices of bacon on the plates or rip into small bite-size and spread.

Micro 30 secs. Season anytime and anything you like!

  • +4

costco has the best + value croissants and roast chicken - hands down

    • +1

Costco chicken loses points for no stuffing

    • I had their chicken for the first time last Christmas, boy I did not know a deli packed roast chicken could be that bloody good. So so juicy, every part was tender, fragrant, so nice I could just eat that on its own for a meal. Would go back just to get the chicken. Would also grab a tray of croissants haha. And a box of their potato salad, add the three together and it makes a mean sandwich!

  • +4

At half price, they are still two times what they are worth.

  • How are these compared to the cafes?

    • +10

      these are croissants
      cafes are cafes
      cafes are not crosissants

      • importing drugs in crossaints

  • Aldi one is the the best. This one is ok only.

  • +1

I like the actually-large croissants you get from coles in a box, I think it's a 12 pack for ~$10. Put some ham & cheese in the middle and pop in the oven. Tasty.

  • +2

Last time I tried these these were so tasteless, it was like chewing cardboard.
It was my first and last time buying them.

  • Breakfast for the next week!!!

    Thank you 😊

  • Only 25% butter. Good if you want a "croissant" if you're on a diet, bad if you want a croissant. Good croissants are 50% butter.

    • Username checks out

  • +3

Stale bread in the shape of a kwa-sohn. Delicious.

  • +1

Maybe I'm not as snobby as the other commenters here. I like these.
I've also seen a local cafe owner roll into Woolies right as they opened and cleared them out of these. I suspect at $0.45 per croissant, these are cheaper than what they can get wholesale. By the time you pop some ham and cheese on and put it a sandwich grill / oven, you won't know the difference.

For those who are comparing 10 croissants for $4.50 with one warm croissant from a cafe at $6.50, you're a numpty.

    • +1

Cool some cafes have 0 quality control !

    • Yep the guy commented up here

    • +1

'others' are snobby because they don't like big boxes of mass produced supermarket croissants?

Err, okay. That's a new one.

  • How long do you have to consume?

    • 3 days on the label but in the fridge longer, and in the freezer even more

  • +5

I know they are cheap so shouldn't complain…but, how does anyone eat these, they are some of the worst croissants I have ever had.

  • +1

used to be good, but now?….I avoid supermarket croissants now. Not light and fluffy, more like a sweet bread, can be very dry lately. I guess some store bakeries might be better than others.
