That's an option, you can also do local storage by adding external storage via USB to the Arlo base. A friend of mine managed to do that.

If you are spending this much, would be stupid not to leverage the power of the Arlo services. I paid for a few years and it was well worth what you get from detections,alerts etc
I recently had to set something up similar
= $347.10 after 'Make an Offer' and 22% eBay discount.
Add in 4 x $10 Micro SD cards for backup local storage and $35USD pa for Reolink cloud and I think it works out about 50% of the price for 90% of the features of the Arlo system (with the benefit of a self-powered system, with perhaps a better user experience).

how many days video can u store with 64GB?
do you get a feeling that you don't own the thing since you need to pay 35usd a year for the cloud.. what if they close down ?Very nice pricing.
