      • thanks but i would rather order from a much reputed reseller like jb, hn or ow.

fair enough, but nothing wrong with that seller, mate bought i12 pro from them, au stock, invoice, all good, also covered by ebay, credit card, pay pal etc..

          • +1

@RogueWolf: I think it’s more like convenience going to shop if problem persists. But then again, if it’s AU stock, no issues going straight to apple store for solution too.

        • Seriously!

  • Battery life is abysmal. Not worth it if you want more than 6 hours a day of usage.

    • How does the SE compare?

      • SE has a subpar battery life. Its battery size is smaller than iPhone 12 Mini's. However, iPhone 12 Mini has 5G so depends on the usage. Neither is good.

That's why most people prefer iPhone 12 and why iPhone 12 is the top selling model.

Problem is, most analysts predicts 120Hz refresh screen in iPhone 13 (or whatever the next iPhone is going to be called, maybe 12S if 13 is not a well liked number). For $150, I reckon might as well wait for the next one. Some even predict 128GB might be the lowest storage size option (to match Android offerings), but I still think that's wishful thinking.

12 Mini with the heavy discount is tempting…

        • According to rumours the 120Hz refresh screen might only be reserved for the Pro series only. So if you talking about mini and regular iPhone 13, it won't matter, but only matters are the battery capacity size might increase.

          • @cloudie9: Another unknown is that whether Apple will have iPhone 12 replacing the price point iPhone 11 currently occupies once the next iPhone is out.

120Hz to entice people to buy Pro models later this year is a good strategy.

          • @cloudie9: What are the benefits of a 120hz screen for the average user? I'm a casual phone user

            • @OCD Completionist: I guess its "pleasing" on your eyes as it smooth scrolling, it will be similar to iPad Pro's ProMotion.

I went for an 11 Pro instead of a 12 Mini last month. Still compact size (being in between size of an 11 and a 12 Mini), while having outstanding battery life unlike a 12 Mini. Found brand new one at a Cash Converters for $825, great deal.

      That is not true.
It’s battery life is right in the middle of a full sized iPhone 12 and an SE. It does 2 hours more video than an iPhone 8 or an SE2. Despite a much bigger screen and 5G than either.

This meme got going because it is smaller than an iPhone 12 and its humongous battery. Well that’s physics for you.

But I can say that I am impressed that such a small phone has the battery life it has. I have never run out by the end of the day, and I habitually use this phone with speaker, and drive around using wireless CarPlay. For hours.

Today is a quiet day. Only 4 hours and 47 minutes active screen since 9 am (13 hours). 70% reading a book (I browsed in Books then downloaded one), 10% mail, 7% outlook, 5% phone and bits of other stuff. The phone still has 83% charge.

I would buy another one and intend to get an iPhone 14 mini. Typed on a iPhone 12 mini.

      • That's with WiFi. According to Tom's guide, when 5G is used, 12 Mini's battery life is lower than iPhone SE 2020. Obviously, that's not a fair comparison as all 5G phones drains battery quicker (and that's why Android phone makers put in a larger battery to compensate).

I'm sure with just 4G, it would last longer than SE 2020.

        • Maybe. That is probably why today was so good. But most days I am not on wifi driving around. I have 5G on auto. Rarely less than 60% by bedtime. I think my biggest day was down to about 28% I went and looked because the bar was so down. Had spent the day watching Netflix.
It has much better battery life than my previous phone.

    • Thanks mate. I asked about battery in another post, but really looking for something that does a full day, preferably two. Criminal that the battery is less than 3000mAH given the price.

    • What are you doing to only get 6 hours? I've had a 12 mini for a month now and its brilliant, get a decent whole day worth and only charge at night and I listen to music on it most of the day while at work.

Do u think this phone would get cheaper when the new iphone comes out (September ) or is this as cheap it will get?

  • What version of IOS do they have out of the box? Curious for jailbreaking purposes :)

  • Good deal and perfect time for taxes

    • Hard to claim tax for an iphone. Also, tax always count the date of purchase.

  • I just bought the Ultimate Home gift card from Coles, can we get JB HiFi or The Good Guy to price match?

    • Worth a try. Seems like stock is really low (everywhere) - that will be the first problem.
