First time posting, one of the best full-frame cameras for stills is currently on sale. Should be the all-time lowest given that it's the updated version with a better LCD screen and USB ports.

      That's the older version

      • Cheers, the more you know.

NeXT is right, this is the revised Sony A7R Mark IV A (the old one is B)

(Sony A7R Mark III and IV A) display now has a more modern 2.36-million dot resolution, rather than the older 1.44-million dot displays on the current models. Otherwise, the only other changes are that the USB port has been changed to USB 3.2 to match the Sony A7S III, and there's no longer a Sony logo beneath the LCD monitor.

If you have the Sony AMEX $60 offer, try price match with Sony.
Just a note that Sony cash back is quite tardy. I am still chasing up cash back from last November, and that was purchasing directly from their online store!

    • I've received 3 cashbacks from Canon, so from third party dealers, all cleared within a fortnight.

      Not good enough Sony 😬

It's the support/culture that really make Canon (& previously Nikon) stand out.

If only this camera had a flippy fully articulating screen, like the a7s III. I would so jump on it if it had that screen T_T

  • People who buy this camera, what do they mainly do and use it for?

I'm guessing for taking photos. Could be wrong :)

    • Investment.

Lens or film cameras may do but it is not a good idea to buy digital cameras for investment purpose.

    • There are a lot of professionals or rich noobs.

    • The High MP is great for landscapes and also if you want to heavily crop an image and still end up High res

  • Anyone who are keen to buy this product make sure to do price match with Sony.

    • Genuine question — what is the advantage price matching with Sony, please?

      • As above, people with Amex Sony rebate offer. Or, in Sony physical store where the cash back is credited immediately, no headache chasing them up like I am now with last November promo, after I bought from Sony online.

        • Yes I agree with Buy2Much. I did the price match with Sony and they offered me the same price as Digidirect and also they have given me free Think Tank STREETWALKER®️ PRO V2.0 bag as well. Cashback will be taken care by the store, no need to worry about chasing Sony from your side.

          • @sathishk: Did you price match at the physical store? I did the price match request online to test it out (not that I have $ to spend). They offered me the bag as well, saying that I was a valued previous customer ;-) My previous online Sony store purchase had cash back supposedly taken care by them, but here I am, 6 months down the track still chasing them…

@Buy2Much: Yeah I did price match in physical store. They assured me to get the cashback on time. Hopefully I'll get it :)

              • @sathishk: It was better when they gave you loaded eftpos/VISA gift cards on the spot…
