OP you need to make clear that this price is a bundle and includes an extra controller (hence the higher price)

  • +1

    Cheers for this..

Perfect timing.. I was literally scanning everywhere for stock..

    Ordered and paid :)

    • +5

You fanboys really have nothing going on in your lives do you…

        • +2

So I assume you're doing well with your Sony shares then?

    • +23

Isn't that the draw of these. You just put in AA batteries and off you go instead of buying replacement li-ion proprietary packs or having them built in.

        • +12

I prefer AA batteries. Ensures longevity of controller with removable batteries compared to built in batteries which degrade overtime when recharged

          • +4

@Lucille Bluth: Same here. Would much prefer having a controller that is easy to repair. Can also buy bulk Eneloops and swap em out as soon as it goes flat so you're good to go again.

          • -8

@Lucille Bluth: are you guys like boomers or something? lol.

            • @kungfuman:

are you guys like boomers or something? lol

              Hardly. I'm 27.

            • @kungfuman: aRe YoU gUys LiKe BoOmErS, man zip it. Really enforcing the stupid kid stereotype.

        • +3

Bought my eneloops on the release day of the Xbox One and they are still lasting over a month in my controllers.\

          What's the issue?

        • I agree with kungfuman, who wants to replace AA batteries all the time.

Expense to buy new ones and also time to charge rechargeable ones.

Why not charge the controller originally and be done with it. Thanks Sony

          • +2

@BargainSnatcher: All the time? I've changed batteries once since 15 April, unlike my PS4 controller which needs to be charged after every 2nd gaming session.

I too thought what is this the 90s, but am now fully converted to AAs.
Simple solutions are often the best.

          • -1

@BargainSnatcher: its also an environmental issue if people keep using AA batteries So Microsoft needs to start forcing battery packs if thats the way they like to roll that way people can still replace the rechareable battery packs if they go bad if they dont' want to go down the built in battery root like every other console.

            • +1

@kungfuman: AA batteries are rechargeable in Eneloop form. There's no "evironmental issue" unless you're some sort of sadist using none-rechargeable AAs !

              • -1

@Nom: if your going to get recharable then you get the offical charging pack from microsoft.

there is no need to use AA batteries on new devices period, unless you run old technology.

                • +2

@kungfuman: LOL. You can buy whatever you want. I prefer the Eneloop option over the MS charging pack.

                • +1

@kungfuman: I see you didn't read any other posts in this thread 😁

Microsoft's charging pack must be recharged in the controller - you have nothing on standby ready to go, unless you buy two of them.

AAs are superior for this reason, you always have some charged and ready to go - the official charging pack doesn't bring any benefit, and it costs more than the AA alternative !

                  • -1

@Nom: I know like every other controller you charge the controler. I am aware of this. most people have 2 controller for one, or they charge there controller after every use. I have never had a insance where my playstation controller ran out of power. NEVER happens because its always been charged. My oldest playstation in my collection with wireless controllers is the PS3 the controllers have been recharged over and over again since 2009 and yet the battery still lasts about 2 hours based on the age those batteries shouldn't be working any more but they still are after 12 years!! BOTH my ps3 controler still work!! So its all a question of the USER just not remembering to charge. Can't account for user error. If your spending 750 bucks on a console, then cost is not an issue to buy more accessories.

                    • +1

@kungfuman: Best of both worlds. MS should include a pair of AA rechargeables that can be charged in the controller.

Bonus if they did some dockable charging solution because I just like the convenience.

                    • @kungfuman: The PS5 controller has an internal 1,560 mAh non-replacabke battery.

The official XBox rechargeable battery pack is 1,400 mAh

I have 2 x 2,300 mAh AA rechargeable batteries in my XBox controller. Total capacity is 4,600 mAh.

You WILL be charging a controller with a built in battery or battery pack much more often. 2.95 times more often in the case of the PS5 and 3.29 times more often for the XBox battery pack.

                      The difference is very noticeable.

    • +19

      Do you even Eneloop?

    • +7

You can use the same battery packs from previous xbox one controllers fyi, or even use xbox one controllers themselves

      • -8

sure if you owned the orginal xboxs sure. I have only ever owned playstations and nintendo systems that I still own which never have required a battery pack EVER!! the series X is my first ever xbox.

        • To be honest it's a one-off purchase. If you ever have an issue with the battery pack, you can always replace it. I own both a ps4 and a xbox one (and now a series x), and being able to just get a new battery pack or just use AA batteries instead of buying a whole new controller is pretty great. Admittedly it would be good if they included one (even still removable) with a controller, but they decided not to for some reason.

Also i was letting you know you could because you might want to buy some from amazon etc that are a bit cheaper, knowing that the xbox one batteries still work with a series x (i found a twin pack for $20 online in about 2 mins)

          • @NickimusRex: Just FYI that isn't always the case.

I have 2 different aftermarket play and charge kits. Neither fit the new controllers.

            • @Duff5000: Yeah it would likely be the ones that are essentially just the batteries, and not the ones that replace the battery door

        • Ahh you must have skipped the Wii then.

    • +5

AA Eneloops can be immediately swapped when they run out - for this reason alone, I definately don't want built-in battery packs that need a cable connecting to the controller to recharge whilst you play.

      • -1

you get a 3 metre cable with the kit. at the very least its 2m.

nothing wrong with eneloops but some people really exaggerate the inconvenience of plugging in a USB cable.

        • I can't plug in the USB cable and keep playing - the closest USB port to my sofa is multiple metres away !

          • @Nom: not with that attitude you cant.

              • @Nom: I have used a powerbank and a USB in a moment of heightened gaming, but mostly i just wait til the yellow light comes on on my elite v2 and chuck it on the dock after im finished that session.

                • +1

@Laserface: Yeah I would need about a 5m USB cable to plug in and keep playing, my sofa isn't particularly close to my AV gear.

It could be done … but I much prefer that I can just put new Eneloops in rather than have a cable draped across the room !!

    • +1

They did this on purpose to give people a choice though it would be nice if they had some kind of bundle. This is a better way than an inbuilt imo because if the battery dies the controller can still be used.

    • +5

I fix controllers as a side hustle and the number one annoyance is inbuilt batteries for Sony controllers.

If you are a heavy user, the inbuilt batteries in the Sony controllers will only last a few years.

Xbox you just replace and you are back to gaming.

    • +1

Swappable batteries are way better. You can buy rechargeable ones, some in docks and choose how you want your controller.

I bought a 4 pack of 2550mah batteries with recharger off Amazon for around 50 bucks. Never any down time this way. Second I get a low battery notification I swap them and keep on playing. Could have used the extras for the kids but grabbed them a pack too so they each have one on charge ready go replace their dead battery.

    • Prepare to be destroyed by logic…

  • +3

These different colour controllers in a bundle play havoc with my OCD.

  • OOS already

    • dead link?

      • Out of stock

The link worked for me when I ordered

  • -8

thats why its always good not to post this stuff on ozbargan because then people have a chance at buying it without everyone swarming it. eg telstra had some stock 2 weeks ago, no one posted the link here and they had stock for a week before they sold out. Thats how I got mine no issues and didn't sell out quickly.

    • +15

Couldn't disagree more, only reason I have a Series X is OZB.

      • +3

Look, if it’s a bargain, it should be on OZBargain.

That’s how it works, if everyone thought like you, there wouldn’t have been OZBargain. Or any other deal site that are out there.

        • -3

by the same logic if its not it shouldn't be -

          not best price today.

          not good deal

          not 5/ 10 % off

but this site runs on advertising now not bargains.

        • Look, if it’s a bargain, it should be on OZBargain.

That’s how it works, if everyone thought like you, there wouldn’t have been OZBargain. Or any other deal site that are out there.

I’m going to point out a technicality here, in this particularly instance, paying RRP isn’t exactly a bargain. If this was OZRRP or OZFOMO, then sure.

      • +1

Agreed that’s how I got mine so I’d thought I would share!

      • +3

But then you get arsehats like the bloke on here few days ago who bought 8 (was pissed that one store would only sell him 2) in 2 days only to profit from… had no interest in owning/playing.

I logged in just to say that this comment is dumb.
      Good job.

      • I logged in just to + 1 your comment.
        Good job.

    • +2

Would rather OzBargainers get the limited stock quickly than randoms slightly less quickly. Chances are, the person who picks up that deal will post a really good deal that is directly relevant to you soon. Community spirit, my dear lad!!!

The only time I'd agree is the time I posted a deal before actually checking out and then got OzBargained before I could claim my own deal :D

  • Ahh missed it again!
Any tips for lists I can sign up to so I know when stock comes in?

        • +1

          Awesome, enjoy 🙂.
Can't speak highly enough of gamepass

  • Ordered mine through Telstra on top of my plan including game pass - got it the next day.

  • +1

Mine was just shipped… Was half expecting a "sorry we didn't actually have stock"

  • +2

I managed to get 2 Series X consoles. One for myself (in Brisbane) and another from my brother (in Sydney).

The trick is to not have a job so you can call every EBGames store near you on a daily basis and go grab it when stock arrives in the store.🤣
