Was going to post how shopping-express-clearance had a lower price and they literally changed the price the minute I did.

I like the deals shopping express have from time to time, but gotta admit they have pretty terrible business practices.

    • This right here is why i dont buy from them anymore

xiaomi 34" or this or alternative 34"?

lots of other brands also getting in on the 34" market

    • You get an USB hub and speakers on this one. Not sure about tech specs.

      • I have this monitor and it does not have speakers. I see the Ebay listing mentions it but I think it's a mistake.

        • Yeah it does not have speakers. My bad. Only realised it after I watched some reviews.

    • I would try the AOC U34G3X. Mainly cos of the IPS.

      • What do you think about the Kogan IPS version
        https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-34-wqhd-ips-ultrawide-144…

        • That's not much info out about this - customer or proper reviews.

I'd be hesitant to buy it. One displayport input and only hdr400 are bummers

      • so it is flat
        and not much reviews yet
will wait and see the reviews

would curve be better for 34 inch than flat?

    • Someone in the previous post about the xiaomi, said that they use the same panel

    • Can't find Xiaomi support HDR10

      • HDR would be useless on the Xiaomi and this even if it were supported

      • yeah saw on LTT that HDR is pretty crap on monitors anyway
        and more about marketing..
and HDR10 might as well not have it

    • How much are you willing to spend? I have this one and think it is fantastic, but fully aware there are better monitors out there which also cost a lot more.

Just bought one of these for a slightly higher price.

I would suggest grabbing this if you're on a budget.

Keep in mind, the ghosting is an eyesore at times probably because the 1ms GTG is definitely the lower bound (far away from the average in this case).

I have this monitor, bought it 2020 for a higher price, but we were just coming out of lockdown and it was the new rev2 at the time. I really recommend it and have loved using it. That being said the response time is definitely on the slower side. In comparison to my old 24" TN it is noticeably slower and blurrier. Flip side I find I only notice it when actively looking for it, once mid game there are no issues what so ever. I use FreeSync and haven't come across any flickering issues. It is a silk smooth experience. I think for the price (especially at this price) it is well worth it. But keep in mind 3440x1440 is a decent resolution to run, I use a 5700XT and turn settings down to help.

Happy to answer any questions about it.

This might be a dumb question, but doesn't DP1.2 max out at that resolution well before you reach 144Hz? I thought you needed the bandwidth of DP1.4 to be able to support ultrawide 1440p monitors at high refresh rates.

Can anyone who bought one of these comment?

    • As I understand it, DP 1.2 is limited to 144hz for <= 1440p resolutions. However, that's for standard aspect ratios. It's best to target DP 1.4 for monitors (like ultrawides) with a higher pixel density / res — that is if you want higher RF.

      • So does that mean that this monitor won't hit max refresh rates at UWQHD resolution using its two DP1.2 ports?

        • Yes, however, all DP ports on this monitor are rated for DP 1.4, not DP 1.2. It will work fine at 100hz.

  • Weird. The specs in the OP's post say DP1.2 and so do a few other sites like Tom's Hardware, but you're right: Futu's ebay listing does say DP1.4, and I checked the official AOC Australia site and that also confirms DP1.4. Don't trust everything you read, folks! :D

Few places are selling this for $579 and Futu is selling this for $649 and only after CA reduced the price.

I would order from.CA not Futu.
