Fantastic arm, been using it for years. Was using a cheap $15 one from AliExpress (or similar) that was terrible (use it for my webcam now).
Worth noting that I use it with a HyperX Quadcast and have had to add some weight to it to make it work properly.
I'm not impressed by mine, a year after use the boom keeps automatically rising and I'm using a pretty heavy mic as well on it.
I have to use velcro straps on the elbow to adjust the arm from not rising.
Gutted. Hope that doesn’t happen to mine. Bought in Dec 2020 & still going strong. I use it with the NT-USB Mini.
Did you hit up Rode support? They’re pretty good.
Also, I noticed while the default warranty is 1 year only, you can extend for free if you purchased via an authorised reseller & you registered here.
I use the procaster on mine and the arm keep lowering itself lol
Have you have tightened the adjusting screws appropriately?
Buy the $40 pro gaming mic from Kmart and keep the boom arm… And the mic lol.
The advantage is this one can lift more than the neweer one. The trouble is the mounting options for this arn't great (still good enough), and the actual length it can reach wasn't enough for me). Remember Rode is aussie so their warranty is top notch.
This Rode boom-arm is great, but I decided to buy the Neewer one for $16 instead lol
