  • They are a nice fast printer, pity the toner cost double the printer…
    I bought one from HN @ $43 and a 2200 page toner is $85

    • Compatible toners seems to work quite well too, and can be sourced cheaper with a bit of hunting.
eg $38 on eBay from an Aussie seller "Aussie Toner".

  • Can u refill the toners of this printer?

    cheers,

You don't buy toners for these things, you chuck it away and buy another cheap printer

  • Which one is better. Fuji-Xerox P205B or Brother HL-2132 Mono Laser Printer?
    I'd like to get one.

  • I bought this printer through Hardly Normal a while back for $38.

It's a good printer but it takes a long time to get warm up before it prints a page, once it's started it's quick though.

    • Our mf version takes no noticeable time at all… Maybe its your puter or something Bob??

    woot hornsby represent!

  • Same question… which one is better
Fuji-Xerox P205B or Brother HL-2132 Mono Laser Printer?
Brother can find toner on ebay and cheaper..

    • The Fuji toner is just as easy to procure.

We have had the multifunction version of this printer for 6 months ? and it is brilliant in every regard. Not as flimsy as the others too, especially the Samsungs :-(.

  • The quality of the build of these things are pretty good for a $40 printer.

But its probably cheaper to throw it out when the toner is finished :\

I wont use after market toner now as I got burned as it stuffed (scratched) up 2 brother drums that wernt cheap.

  • The brother works out cheaper if you are doing huge amounts of printing. I.e. the cpp is lower.

  • Did Anyone knows how many page the toner can print ?
(I mean the toner that come with it)
I am planning to throw it out when the toner is finished =( SAD

    • 600 sheet yield (at 5% coverage) for the starter toner that is included.

    • I suggest against that, as there is a perfectly good drum included, good for 12,000 sheets, a replacement compatible high yield toner can be had for $20-30 which can print upto 2600 pages… the starter toner is said to print about 700…

I bought this printer, it's not too bad. However it doesn't work with Linux. I have to use VirtualBox everytime I need to print something.

Just to let everyone know there is atrick to get about double the pages out of a brother toner.
There is a sensor hole on the side of their toners.
The printer will say it is empty when there is still 20-30% toner left

follow these instructions and see for yourself on different model
I use tn-2150 meant to be 2600 pages I got a tad under 4000 pages

Not sure if this is an issue for anyone (cos it kinda was for me), but this one doesn't keep paper in a tray and instead you have to manually place the paper into a slot after folding down the front (this doesn't mean manual feed, just manual preparation I guess). Wish I'd known before I bought it cos I don't print that often and would rather have had one that stored the paper within the printer itself. Next time!

Despite this it's a good printer. Bought one when they had them on sale last year.
