                  @cinogirl: Guys.. Restart your phones, reinstall the trade in app, do the test.. Then go to provide your cc details in one go.. Follow similar process for 2-3 times

      • Yes could be, but apple has never allowed sd card support on any of their phones and we see no drastic decline in their sales.

        I think samsung has sold s21 like crazy already with these discounts and they just don't want to stop there. All these discounts could be one of thier many plans to get on top and never look back. This seems to be working for them and thier customers too.

        • Can't compare Apple users with Android users. SD-Card support is a big part of why some people choose Android over Apple like me.

          And why I chose the S20FE deal over this.

          I was actually thinking the opposite. That S21 sales were maybe bad and that's the reason why such heavy discounting??

          If sales are good why need to discount the phone?

    • I think the deal is you'll just get charged trade in value if the phone isn't returned. Which for me is only $35 so I'll let them charge me that then sell it privately for more :)

    However, yesterday paid $599 for the 20 FE 5g for the Mrs using both loyalty discount and newsletter voucher. I regret that as i could have traded her A71 and got a similar price to what i paid today.

    Overall - happy days - just over 1k for S20 FE 5g + S21 5g

    When you do the trade in put in that your screen is smashed or something. My trade in value came down to $30 for an s7 edge. don't return the phone and you're only charged $30 but still eligible for the $400 rebate

        Read the T&C and make your own call. Many believe it's that's the case. Many disagree. What Asurion/Samsung will do is still somewhat unknown. Some reps have said the bonus won't be charged back, others have said it will.

          I replied to Asurion saying I'd rather keep my S8.
          Today they sent me this email,

If you wish to not return your old device, you will only be charged the amount that you were offered for your old device and it will no longer be a requirement to return the old device to us. Any promotion offer will still remain as it is. Hope that information was helpful.

          You will be charged automatically. Unfortunately, we do not have the exact time frame of when you will be charged. But please keep the funds ready in your account to avoid any confusion. Please ignore any automated e-mails till then.

            @Awsam: You cant trust the chat reps. Others have said the opposite.

            You need to read the T&C and make your own call.

      How does this work? I've tried with an S7 edge, Pixel 4 xl and Note8. They all become ineligible when I say yes to having a crack.

      There has been discussion about this on other threads. I think the button is off the bottom of the screen or something, on some devices? From memory you can reduce the general text size or something, in the main settings, and then you can see the button? Something like that anyway.

  • I'm still getting emails from the trade-in company that they havent received my phones even though tracking proves that they have received them on the 4th of May. I have sent them multiple emails. Only once they replied. Based on previous comments on older posts, looks like the trade-in company can be a bit dodgy and people have had to do chargebacks.

    • You can't without a working device. The device needs to be working and in good condition. Sounds like yours is ineligible.

              @akd: Ahh ok. Probably worth trying again. They're generally pretty happy to give them out if you genuinely want/need to upgrade and are nice about it.

  • For anyone that's ordered, did you get the order confirmation straight away? I'm a bit confused as to whether my order went through as after I paid through paypal, it took me back to a blank cart on the Samsung website, but I see money has come out of my account…only been 10 mins but no order confirm yet in email.

  • Oops, can't use the Trade-up as I have a cracked S8 back glass and an internal crack on the screen :(

      If you can pass the device tests (microphone, speaker, lock, bluetooth, wifi, touch) but (profanity) up at declaring your cracked screen:
      - Reset the app (reinstalling, though I had to clear system cache)
      - Rerun the test
      - Declare in perfect condition
      - Acquire code

      Just don't send your device in and pay the trade in cost as well (however much the S8 is evaluated at).

      The app definitely ain't got a way to test the cracked back, and in my case, my cracked front worked fine still so I could pass the touch tests.

We will charge the same payment method as your initial order. If you do not have sufficient credit available on the account you used when you placed your order, Samsung will contact you. You must provide an alternate payment method.

          This deal has been going on for some time and everyone who decided not to send their phone in has not been charged. There's also been communication from Asurion that you will only be charged for the device trade-in value and not the $400 bonus.
